  • Find it at: Yanyarrie Avenue, Edwardstown A beautiful brand new playground opened in May 2021, nestled snugly in the backstreets of Edwardstown, you will find City of Marion designed (Talented Jason Avery at work here again) ripping spot to relax and take a moment out of your busy day. With a huge nest swing, a really cool climbing boulder and some in-ground tramps, you won't find a tremendous amount of equipment, but what they have done is create a relaxing and peaceful space for local parents to unwind and let their little crew run or scoot (neat little bike track path winds throughout the playground too) around. It isn't fully fenced, but the side street is relatively quiet. Throw in a basketball court, water fountain and a lovely undercover seating space and this is a fantastic development for local families. • Find it at: Alison Avenue, Marion Not a bad little backstreet playground this one, which is a good spot for the locals and if you happen to be in the area and the kids need to run off some steam. It has a picnic chair, table and some lovely grassed space which was really nice on the sunny day we visited. Plenty of shade from the trees and the playground has a good variety of equipment to cater for the under 10s mainly. With a nice big twirly slide, swings, lots of monkey bars and other climbing sets to muck around on. The flying fox was a hit with our crew too as was the purple climbing thingy which we couldn't settle on a name for...but it was fun! No toilets, no water fountains, no BBQs sadly, but parking is not an issue here. It isn't fenced either but it is set quite a way off the road so safety wise it isn't much of an issue there either. Our little crew had a great time here so be sure to check it out if you are in the area. Oh it also backs onto Westminster School, so be sure…

  • Find it at: Malwa Street, Glandore The fabulous playground at the Glandore Community Centre is now open and we think it looks sensational! The highlight of course is the huge 'birdcage' climbing structure which leads into a great tube slide, which is big enough to keep the older kids entertained but also is just right for the brave younger ones to try. There is a 3 on 3 basketball court, and a table tennis table plus plenty of lawned area's including a mini soccer pitch (perfect spot to pack the car with ALL the balls). We loved the little pump track for the smaller crew to ride and scoot around, plus the artwork scattered around adds a really nice touch to a very well put together facility for the community. Parents will enjoy the seating, as well as the natural shade from the mature trees in the park, and there is a small fence that offers some barrier between the playground and the road. It is only a relatively quiet side street however, so it is in a good spot for a bit of peace and quiet well away from busy South Road. Toilets can be found in the adjoining…
