An exciting new development is progressing in Modbury, on the corner of Smart Road and Australia Avenue.
Australia Reserve is being upgraded by Council and will feature an inviting playground and lush green reserve space. Architecturally designed two-storey townhouses with sustainability features will frame the park.
The Council maintained playground is being installed and includes swings, a climbing net, balancing elements and a slide.
The infrastructure and foundation works are on schedule for the ‘euca’ housing development, ready for housing construction to commence later in the year.
Landscaping and planting are occurring in selected areas to ensure well-established green spaces when the project is completed.
This is a newly renovated (July 2018) park for all ages. 4 swings (2 little kids and 2 older kids), balancing, climbing nets and climbing wall, monkey bars, firemans pole and flying fox. There's also exercise equipment for big kids and adults. Nature play elements including hard and loose surface paths and a water play area including a water gate, water pumps, channel, sand sieve and wooden bridge that will be great fun in summer! There's also lots of shade including 2 shade sails which we love as well as BBQs and undercover picnic area, basketball area and netball goal too. A great park for a birthday party! This is an off-leash park where dogs can exercise off-leash, except within 5 metres of a playground, at a wetland or when organised sport is being played. Note: There are no toilets at this park but it's just a short walk (10 mins or so) to Hendrie Street Reserve [wpgmza id="138" cat="1" marker="480" zoom="16"]
Wow this is a huge area for the kids to run wild and let off some energy. With the new playground upgrade in June 2017 this reserve/playground/skate park is worth the visit. As soon as I got to the gate I was super excited to see the colourful equipment painted green and orange that awaits you. The bright equipment is a fabulous add to this existing skate park. A multi level climbing tower is the main structure to this playground and caters for all ages First level is for the little ones and has a little slide whilst the big kids can keep climbing the tower and enjoy the tubular slide that looks like a small water slide. Along with the colourful tower this playground has a swing set including a baby swing, a little see saw, a climbing area with monkey bars and a few other pieces for the little ones to play on with most pieces protected by the shade cloth. Not far from the play equipment you will find fitness equipment, followed by a basketball ring then the Skate park. Look further a field and right down the other end of this reserve is a cricket net,…
Nangawooka is a small 5 acre reserve on the main Victor Harbor road not far from McCracken Golf Club. (corner of Waterport Road and Adelaide-Victor Harbor Rd) It's a beautiful place for a walk with many varieties of native plants, trees and flowers as well as over 60 species of birds including a large population of Blue Wrens. You might even spot a few lizards, insects and even an echidna or two! There are nesting boxes among the trees and a bird hide in the centre of the reserve which is wheelchair accessible and has multi-level viewing ports for bird watching and photos. The area is accessed by well-defined winding pathways through the plantings, which are very easily walked. The main paths are wheelchair friendly and the scented garden area has paved pathways. There are seats dotted around the place as well as a gazebo for a picnic lunch and onsite, accessible toilet.
