Get ready Adelaide families, everyone’s favourite blue heeler pup is heading to the movies! That’s right, Bluey is making the jump from the TV to the big screen with her very first feature-length film.
When can we see it?
Mark your calendars because Bluey: The Movie will be released in cinemas worldwide on 6 August 2027. After its big-screen run, it’ll also stream on Disney+, and for Aussie families, you’ll be able to watch it later on ABC iview and ABC Kids.
What makes this movie special?
For the very first time, Bluey will be in CG animation (instead of the usual 2D style you see on TV). The movie will be written and directed by Bluey’s creator, Joe Brumm, with co-director Richard Jeffery, who worked on the TV show too.
The much-loved voices of Bandit (David McCormack) and Chilli (Melanie Zanetti) are back, and the music will once again be created by composer Joff Bush — so you can expect those heartwarming tunes we all love.
What’s the story about?
That part’s still a mystery! Disney and the creators are keeping the plot under wraps for now, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what adventures Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli will get up to.
Is this the end of the series?
Not at all! While Joe Brumm (the show’s creator) is focusing on the movie for now, there’s no official word that the TV show is ending. Bluey fans can relax — the Heeler family isn’t going anywhere just yet.
We’ll keep you posted with trailers, sneak peeks and fun updates as they’re announced. One thing’s for sure: Adelaide families will be lining up at the cinema in 2027.
