Family friendly wineries in South Australia

How lucky are we to live in the wine capital of Australia? We have so many beautiful wine regions here in SA that deliver stunning views, fresh local produce, friendly staff & of course, amazing wines!

In a move that we are truly thankful for, the wine industry has shifted in recent years to become more & more family friendly. There are tons of kid friendly wineries across McLaren Vale, Clare, the Barossa, Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills & all over where kids & families are welcomed into the cellar doors. Some have playgrounds, or giant games, some dish out colouring books & some even have their own “kids tasting flights” of juice, milk & biscuits. How fun!

So when you are planning your next regional getaway or catch up with friends, don’t leave the kids at home, take them to one of these family friendly wineries or cellar doors & enjoy!

Kids Tasting Flights at Kimbolton wines

Of all of the wineries we have visited this year? Kimbolton has had the most on offer for kids and families, and we just love this place to bits. From the shady lawn games and kids welcome baskets, to the massive hand they played in the regions ‘Grapes for Good’ initiative, come take a look at our recent visit. Less than an hour away from the Adelaide CBD lies the Langhorne Creek wine region. Where is Langhorne Creek? Glad you...

Located out at Lyndoch, under an hour from the CBD, this stunning estate offers a family friendly vibe that we find really hard to come across in what are usually adult...

Barley Stacks Winery, Yorke Peninsula

We love a winery that welcomes families and kids. Yorke Peninsula is known for a lot of things, beaches, fishing, summer holidays, Innes National Park…. and honestly? Traditionally wine has never really featured in this region, but stay with us because #worthit – this place is a cracker! It especially gets a high recommend from us, no matter where you are on Yorkes, if the weather turns ordinary – it’s a great place to...

Barristers Block – a family friendly winery

Barristers Block is officially my favourite winery to go with kids. I’ve been to a number of recommended wineries from the Barossa to McLaren Vale and this has gone straight to the top of the list! Situated in Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, I recently took my English relatives to Barristers Block for lunch during a day in the hills and it didn’t miss a beat. Barristers Block is a lovely winery on the main street in Woodside, just...

Harvest Kitchen – Barossa

Harvest Kitchen can be found at the top of Magnolia Rd, just outside the township of Tanunda, and partners with Calabria Family Wines Barossa who’s tasting room sits under the same roof. Lloyd Brothers Wine & Olive Company McLaren Vale

The front sign says it all WELCOME and that is exactly how this winery makes families feel when you walk through the door. A fab spot for a lazy afternoon. What we love about this winery is the simplicity. The little things are often the things we want and remember the most. Lloyd Brothers loves families and this was evident when we visited. They have a gorgeous little kids corner located inside. Whilst small it has a little table and chairs,...

Old Oval Estate/ Fork in the Road Wines, McLaren Vale

This winery goes by two names. The wines are called Fork in the Road wines and the venue as such is called Old Oval Estate and it’s the sweetest family run winery.
