Located in stunning Edithburgh on the Southern Yorke Peninsula just a comfy two and a half hour drive from Adelaide (minus toilet stops. ALL the toilet stops) and smack bang on the Esplanade in prime position in front of the jetty. These are the perfect apartments to base yourself for a trip through Yorkes. It’s also just a hop skip and a jump over the road to the famous Edithburgh Tidal Pool too!

The accommodation here is just what you need, with modern and updated decor and styling, and all the amenities you need when you come home after a big day of exploring. With 2 bedrooms, featuring a queen bed in one plus 2x singles, this will comfortably fit a family of 4. The bathroom was nice and modern, the kitchen had all the kitchen things you would expect and there is a laundry room at the back of the property as well. We did find the beds a tad short for those taller folk, but overall it is sensational value for money and an ideal spot to rest your head.

We loved the huge grassed area at the back of the property, which is perfect for the kids to run around and kick they footy, but having the fabulous Edithburgh foreshore greet you as the open your front door was just spectacular. Make sure you check out the jetty across the road or do what we did and follow the ‘Walk the Yorke’ trail for a few km’s for the ideal morning stroll.

There is room for your boat, and you are adjacent the all weather modern boat ramp facilities + yep, there are fish cleaning facilities on site too.

This place has to be our top pick for a wonderful affordable Yorkes stay.

  • Did you know that Edithburgh on the Southern Yorke Peninsula is home to South Australia's only tidal pool? There are talks of building one at Hallett Cove (and we're here for it) but it's just that at this stage, talks. So, if you want to experience some tidal pool action how about a trip to 'The Burgh'? It's a two and a half hour drive from Adelaide CBD........Unless you're a realist and your kids are like mine needing to wee eleventy seven times, someone insists on stopping at Kiplings Bakery at Pt Wakefield, you have to drive up the look out at Ardrossan and the dog has a vom someweher near Stansbury. Allow three and a half. How fun are family road trips? Any way this pool is ace. It's entirely FREE and it's great for kids in all weather conditions. The pool itself is not too deep - perhaps a meter at its deepest, until the tide comes in over the wall and then it can be a bit deeper. Older kids enjoy swimming on the outside of the wall, and at times there is a pontoon out there. There are toilets, bbq's, some shade and a large lawn…

  • Ordering a couple of grazing boxes to be delivered and waiting for us at Redwing Farm Stay near Moonta on the Yorke Peninsula is hands down one of the most brilliant ideas we have ever had. Cue busy week at work in the city before heading away for a little Yorkes escape, not a lot of time to plan and pack food, plus with four kids, no room in the car for eskies AND we honestly always prefer to shop local when we travel to regions of SA. BOOM breakfast / brunch box in your face....you look so pretty and tasted every bit as good. How convenient and a little bit special too, which is what you want when you are having a weekend away right? It's such a dream, you can order these and have them delivered any where around the Copper Coast (small delivery fee may apply depending exactly where you want the boxes to show up - but Moonta, Wallaroo & Kadina are free!) Order a brunch box, a lunch selection or just beautiful gourmet grazing and take off for a day of exploring white sandy beaches knowing your (highly insta-worthy) picnic lunch has been prepared for…

  • What is a cowie.....? Great question and you can find out the answers behind the name of this business + a bit of local knowledge when you visit this epic family friendly BELTER of a craft brewery. Located in Minlaton on the Yorke Peninsula about two and a half hours from Adelaide, you'll find your self surrounded by the wholesome goodness of many, many Yorke Peninsula activities and attractions that are great with kids and even better washed down with one of these beers. You will love the casual, funky, relaxed open air feel of this 'beer shed' (Can we call it a beer shed?) With loads of indoor seating, a cosy fireplace and plenty of outdoor tables too. It feels like a bit of a hub for the community, but also a solid asset to local tourism. There's no kitchen at this brewery, but check in with the Watsacowie website, or social media accounts, as they often have the best of the local food trucks serving up top beer nosh. We fully lucked it with YP Wood Oven Pizzas on our visit and that sure kept the kids happy so as Dad (that's me) could enjoy his exceptional (and…
