Forrest nature Reserve Playspace features a large expanse of grass perfect for ball games, although there is no fencing between the park and the quiet suburban streets. There is a fantastic twin flying fox that will keep the kids amused for hours! The playground features one covered and one uncovered slide, a large wooden boat, and a pair of swings.
Large
boulders and a large log and tree have been turned into a fun, natural
playspace. Lovely wood carvings surround one of the picnic tables. There is a
large sandpit where you can dig to uncover the “dinosaur”, sure to keep little
ones amused. There is a little bike track great for small riders.
There are
picnic tables in tree shade but there is little cover in inclement weather.
Outside of school hours the most convenient parking is at the adjacent kindergarten, otherwise street parking is available. There are no toilets on site and there is no wheelchair access to any of the equipment or tables.
Find it at: Comet Ave, Netley Designed and inspired by the kids at Netley Kindergarten, this new little nature playground is nestled in the quiet suburb of Netley and adds a new dimension to the modern day playground. A fabulous area for kids to get in touch with nature by playing with the sand, climbing wooden bridges, or getting lost in the cave. This space is literally back to basics. These are just a few of the obstacles the children face when they play at the new nature playground. The playground also features a bird nest swing ,sandpits along with some grassed area to run around on. Totally back to nature I love this play area as it is different and allows kids to use there imagination. With lots of places to hide and explore, lots of sand (to fill the car with) this playground is worth the visit if you are in the area. As it is very much a local playground there are NO toilets and whilst there are trees shading parts of the grassed area there is NO shade covering the play area. Whilst this is not ideal a shade sail would take away the rustic feel…
Find it at: Main Street in Myponga Myponga Nature Playground opened in mid 2018 and was a very welcome addition to the local area. This is another nature themed playground from the folks at Nature Play Landscaping who are behind some of our other favourite playgrounds including the new one at Point Turton The park has lots of wooden and rope climbing features, swings, wooden monkey bars/climbing ladder and a nice big sandpit. A beautiful spot to stop for a play and it's located on the main street of Myponga right between a bakery and take away shop, cant go wrong with that! It's fully fenced, there's a BBQ and the large shady trees surrounding the park make up for no shade sail (trees are way better anyway) There's also no toilets on site, but there are public toilets across the road, maybe 400m walk away. Check out the Myponga markets across the road open 9:30 am until 4:00pm Saturdays, Sundays and most Public Holidays and it's also not far to the Myponga Reservoir Reserve. Lots to do in the area so make a day of it! Image credit: Nature Play Landscaping
Find it at: The Springlake development at Mount BarkerYou'll find this playground within the Springlake development in Mount Barker. This is a small park with a slide, a few different swings, climbing logs and a great flying fox. It's a really nice quiet peaceful spot, great for kids who aren't keen on big noisy play spaces. No toilets and no shade but some nice big gum trees surrounding the park There's a great cafe called Pallet about 50m away....one of the finalists in our 2019 Adelaide's Best Babyccino competition!
