Well isn’t this one totally worth the drive out north!
The new playground, Freedom Park, within the Liberty at Two Wells development, is the latest milestone in a $1.2 billion residential precinct way out north. We absolutely loved it when we took the drive to check it out, with our intrepid playground reviewers claiming it as one of the best playgrounds they have visited. High praise indeed!
Lots of fun for all ages and parents will love the facilities, with two BBQ areas (both undercover) and toilets. The kids will love the table tennis, water and sand play, a ripping tube side slide and tower and a whole lot of nature play. The only downside we found was there is little to no shade but we expect that will change as the development’s trees mature.
This is the perfect stop if you are planning a road trip with the kids and we have all the info you need to plan a sensational day out. Why not head about an hour further on and hit up the Barossa Valley! There is so much to do with the fam out that way and we have all the info you need right here. Or how about the Clare Valley? I mean we are sort of spoilt for choice here in SA, so have a look at the best family friendly options in the Clare Valley here.
Toddlers are busy, toddlers are fun, when they throw a tantrum you’ll just want to run! Toddlers can be hard work, but can also be SO MUCH fun. Give them the right space and it’s so entertaining (and also very important) to just let them free and watch them learn, experience, climb, run, fall, work out and try again. Finding that safe space can be tricky though and a fully fenced playground, shallow spot for a splash on a hot day, a cafe with a great play corner or a venue that caters for toddler needs is like finding gold in them thar hills. Here’s our top 10 ways to keep your toddlers happy, entertained and having fun in Adelaide
When you have older kids, it can sometimes be harder to find playgrounds that give them enough of a challenge to stay enthusiastic enough to not be annoying.....thankfully Taperoo Playground is a winner! A beautiful spot, with fabulous manicured grass to make any dad jealous and is perfect for picnics. There is a small tramp built into the ground which is always fun for a bounce or two. What we loved the most was the huge climbing equipment which had a range or ropes and little challenges to weave around as you climb. We haven't seen anything like this in our travels for a long time and love some playground design creativity to challenge the older kids. There is also extra equipment with swings and slides more suited to the younger kids, nature play, plus a half court basketball court and outdoor fitness equipment too! They have also included a BBQ, shelter and toilets to make this a very well designed facility for the family.
We love finding little hidden adventures for you to explore with your families. Being the city folk that we are we had no idea that this beautiful spot could be found just down on the Fleurieu, around 15 mins drive from Victor or about an hour from Adelaide. You'll find Hindmarsh Falls right smack bang in the middle of the Fleurieu Peninsula, around 15 mins from Victor or an hour(ish) from Adelaide. The Falls can be accessed at the end of Waterfall Road, Hindmarsh Valley. It's a fairly easy undulating 15 minute walk, but there are stairs and the path can sometimes get a little slippery so not great for prams or wheelchairs unfortunately. There is an upper carpark (small) and larger lower carpark adjacent to the picnic area. No toilets though so make a pit stop somewhere before you arrive.
