Tucked away in the backstreets is a great big multi-use space at Warradale upgraded in 2024. With a large open space for cricket, footy, kite flying and 2 basketball areas there’s plenty of space for everyone.
The playground equipment is great for older kids, with a tower and tube slides attached the main attraction here. Not a lot for the younger kids in this redevelopment sadly.
There are automatic toilets as well as 2 BBQ seating areas (and 2 seats at the playground), netball and tennis courts, dog water station and lots of parking available.
Ther’s also a small pump track (of sorts…its a few cement bumps) but we hear local kids have already built some dirt jumps nearby. Your kids will have no issue finding something to keep themselves amused (while you enjoy the scenery…so much lovely shade from the gum trees) here.
Find it at: Hayfield Avenue, Blakeview We love a little suburban playground that is just a cracker for the locals. Hayfield Reserve at Blakeview is exactly that! A quickly expanding area with all the new developments, this partially fenced spot has fantastic equipment which will suit from the toddlers up to the 10-12 year old mark. With a BBQ, plenty of space, some seating and shade, a bit of grass for a kick and a catch and add in some funky equipment (the hippos were a hit with the KiA little crew), this is a local fave! Play equipment wise there is a few little ride on toddler pieces, some swings (including for the little ones) and a nice climbing aparatus and slide. Well worth a look if you are nearby!
Find it at: Dampier Avenue, Findon Dampier Reserve at Findon is great a central neighbourhood playground and reserve for the kids to discover (don't forget to bring the racquets!). You'll find the following facilities: Nature play Sheltered picnic tables Two tennis courts Play equipment Basketball ring Public toilets Not a bad little back street playground which if you are a local, is a great little spot to tire the kids out or have a hit of tennis!
Find it at: Kooralla Grove, Kidman Park What a great little park this one is. With a fantastic range of play equipment, including some reasonably challenging climbing equipment to a playground with an enclosed twirly slide, this has something for most ages. It even has a heap of outdoor gym equipment but lets be honest, apart from sitting on the ski swingy one, nobody has ever used any of it....or is that just us? No toilets is the only let down here, but it has a BBQ, seating, a mix of toddler and traditional swings, several slides and is a really beautiful spot. There is no fencing but the river is about 100m away and it is in a nice quiet back street so you shouldn't have many issues.
