Here’s To Strength Community Wellness Hub is Australia’s first one stop self care experience! Their mission is to bridge the gap of access to vital healthcare, wellness and welfare services through their community wellness hub, pantry and support fund initiative. Their vision is to simplify self care and prevent health and wellbeing decline by replicating their solution focused service Australia wide. They aim to end the stigma around mental health, invisible illness, positive body advocacy and suicide prevention.
As a charity they operate three key initiatives:
Their Community Wellness Hubs & Villages – Open 7 days a week from 7am – 5pm. Their flagship pilot site in Aldinga provides a welcoming environment and self-care eco-system where individuals can enjoy a cup of coffee or some brunch, shop for a gift in their local collaborative retail store, engage with therapy animals, hang out with friends/family or connect with essential healthcare, wellness and crisis support services onsite, free from the barriers of traditional overwhelming clinical settings.
Their 24/7 Community Pantries This space removes barriers of access to free food and hygiene items by offering a discreet, outdoor, accessible space where anyone can collect food or self care items throughout the day or night, working towards establishing strong food security within their region without assessments or time restraints.
A Community Support Fund Providing financial assistance for individuals in hardship, partially/fully subsidising private appointment fees up to three times a year to improve mental health and wellbeing without long waiting times.
Over the last three years, they have been a lifeline for over 35,000 individuals and families facing mental health challenges, financial hardship or social isolation. Their model essentially acts as a funnel which creates stepping stones that lead individuals to their own unique healing journey.

Here's To Strength is a beautiful local community hub where you can access a multitude of support and resources. Along with their Wellness Hub, they have a beautiful café which is available for anyone to visit and enjoy, and is incredibly family friendly. I'm talking multiple seating areas with plenty of space to navigate a pram, a beautiful backyard space with a cubby, swing and lots of toys, plus ANIMALS! Their gorgeous ducks and rabbits can be found running around in their pens (or around the backyard, if you're there at the right time) and are so much fun for the kids to watch while you enjoy a coffee and delicious food! Their café is a welcoming community safe space offering soul comforting, organic, fresh, locally sourced, consciously plated food, accessible to all, no matter your dietary needs or budget. Their kids snack plate was a real winner with my little ones, as well as their delicious babyccinos! My favourite is their Weekend Brunch with a delicious latte, and finishing off with a sweet treat from their cabinet! Pay it forward meals and concession discounts Are available instore thanks to their not for profit initiatives and the generosity of their…
South Australia is blessed with stunning family friendly beaches, and scattered around the metro and regional areas of Adelaide are beaches you can drive on! An iconic South Australian family day out, taking the car onto the beach for a day (and filling the car with sandy feet on the way out) is one of our favourite things to do on a hot Adelaide day. We are blessed as one of only two states where beach driving is unregulated, so respecting the environment and reducing our impact on local wildlife is important for this to remain an activity our kids can enjoy well into the future. Most local councils will have rules specific to their beaches and rules for driving. Not all beaches are suitable for all vehicles and some will be 4x4 access only. Conditions will vary dramatically so before heading out, check local council, tide and weather guides for conditions that may impact your day out. Aim to drive at low tide and allow enough time to return before the turn of the tide. For up to the minute weather forecasts, jump on the Bureau of Meteorology page and for daily fire warnings, the CFS will have you…
Work has begun on the new skate park – the latest piece of a long term vision to redevelop Aldinga Sports Park. The new skate park was designed by CONVIC – a world leader in skate park and youth space design and construction – and it’ll be built south of the Aldinga football oval, just west of Main South Road. The skate park has been made possible through a $1.3 million state government grant with the support of Leon Bignell, Member for Mawson. The City of Onkaparinga undertook community engagement on the project in December 2023, and then again in March-April 2024 once a draft concept plan had been created. The project includes: skate bowl and street skating that is capable of hosting events and competitions lighting irrigated turf for seating and viewing a shelter with benches footpaths and car park Construction is expected to be completed around March 2025. Thanks to City of Onkaparinga for the images.
