Pizza? Check! Wine? Check! Space for the kids to run and play? Check! Stunning gardens straight out of a fairytale? Check! Mums and Dads, Lazy Ballerina is your ultimate lunch spot nestled between the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills.

As soon as you walk up the path to enter Lazy Ballerina, you will know you have found somewhere special. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and it is well worth visiting a few times a year to see how they change with the seasons. The best way to experience Lazy Ballerina is to book in for their “Let Us Feed You” menu – they will bring out platters full of local produce followed by delicious wood oven pizzas. Their attentive and friendly staff will just keep bringing pizzas until you tell them to stop! If you’re not full from all the pizza, you can purchase dessert and of course, you must indulge in a few glasses of Lazy Ballerina’s finest!

The kids will be in heaven with the gardens to explore, a bocce area and a huge paddock with a swinging ropes and balls. Don’t worry if the weather isn’t looking the best, in winter they can seat you undercover and the cellar door has a range of games and toys to keep the kids amused. There is a change table in the bathrooms and high chairs available. The kids even get their lunch at a special price, including a drink. On cool days, the firepits scattered across the yard will keep you cosy and warm. This place really does have it all!

Lazy Ballerina book out nearly every weekend, so we recommend booking in advance, which you can do via their website. James, Miriam and their family are the perfect hosts and make you feel so welcome. We also found out that Lazy Ballerina has an AirBnB on site, which would be such a great place to stay. Take a look at the guesthouse here. We’ll be booking in a weekend soon!

  • The front sign says it all WELCOME and that is exactly how this winery makes families feel when you walk through the door. A fab spot for a lazy afternoon. What we love about this winery is the simplicity. The little things are often the things we want and remember the most. Lloyd Brothers loves families and this was evident when we visited. They have a gorgeous little kids corner located inside. Whilst small it has a little table and chairs, books, colouring in, blocks and a few toys and games for the kids to play with. The grassed area outside is huge and features a gorgeous lake with ducks so a lovely spot for the kids to run free. This is the area they use for there family friendly days. They even have a few picnic rugs you can use to keep you warm on cooler days. We loved this little warm touch and we assume you could use as a picnic rug outside on the nice days. In the restaurant pavilion they even have a few bean bags the kids can use to sit together. A clever idea as allows a little adult time. You will also find…
