This park was built in 2015 and has been a firm Riverland favourite for kids of all ages ever since. Little kids will love the toddler play area, numerous swings and smaller slides and older kids will have a great time climbing all over the giant rope tower and the 15m paddle steamer climbing feature (the PS Jolly Miller), zipping down the fast slide, spinning around on the mousewheel, riding the double flying fox. One of the unique features of this park is the Neos electronic game.
There’s also water and nature play elements and accessible carousel for inclusive play. The park has a road safety bike track so bring your bikes and scooters.
Picnic benches and tables, BBQs and toilets mean you can stay all day! Make sure you take a stroll down by the river and check out the “Tree of Knowledge”
Find it at: Rodgers Terrace, Maitland On the corner of Rogers Terrace and Robert St in Maitland there is a great combination playground. It boasts both the typical metal/plastic style playground with a large wooden climbing section. There is a spinning ride (although beware after rain as it fills with water), swings, a big slide, a digger and climbing equipment. It is surrounded by fence for most of the playground with just a small gap for entering (not secure). It has a car park, shaded seating, a free bbq, a double cricket pitch and it's just a short walk to nearby toilets.Fun for the whole family!
Find it at: Pederick Road, Lewiston It's a beautiful playground in such a quiet area. There is little traffic passing by and its enclosed. The playground is in good repair, clean and lots of fun for a range of ages. There is a bbq area with plenty of undercover seating, rubbish bins and a public toilet. The carpark is off the road and has plenty of space and there's even a wetlands walking track. Whilst there we noticed that previous families had taken chalk and done drawing on the brick pathways so that's another idea for keeping the children entertained. There is also a grassy area for ball play. It's definitely somewhere I'll be taking my family for a picnic in the future. Find it at: James Ave, Renmark We love a cracking regional playground and this one is a beauty. Located on the corner of Eighteenth Street and Renmark Ave, this multi-purpose play space has plenty of parking, is close to large undercover BBQ facilities which overlooks the playground, (and is also undercover) which is suitable for toddlers to teens! The playground has swings, slides, lot of climbing equipment for the avid ninjas in your crew and best of all it is all under cover! On other side of playground you will find large dirt mounds and jumps created for the bike enthusiast kids. On the opposite side of the BBQ facility is skate park for the scooters and skaters in the family. Oh did we mention it has toilets! (Yes!)With a large grassed area for footy kicking or kiss chasey, plenty of seating scattered around the park and close to the local shops (across the road from Woolworths and Big W shopping Centre for bribes snacks and treats), this is a must stop on your Riverland road trip.Best coffee shop in town is a stones throw away opposite the roundabout - Arrosto Coffee.
