The Hermit Street Nature Play Space in Roxby Downs opened to the public on Thursday 7 May 2020 and doesn’t it look fantastic!
The aim of the redevelopment was to provide a recreational space that encourages the community of Roxby Downs to embrace the Roxby Downs environment and for children to utilise their imagination to enjoy a range of outdoor developmental activities. It was also important for materials to be durable and sustainable given the harsh Roxby climate.
The nature play space includes; slide, rope net, net bridge, balance posts, swings and a water play feature with a sand pit. The playground has secure fencing, shade over the play area, a public toilet, drinking fountain and shaded area with barbecue.
Find it at: Ridge Terrace, Millicent More details and info as soon as we can but the early photos look amazing! The nature play space in the Domain Millicent was opened by Tony Pasin MP and Mayor Des Noll on July 31 and we couldn't be happier. This State and Federal Government funded project has involved many hours of planning and work from both Council and the community. A new massive slide has been installed at the $1m Domain nature playground development and it looks fabulous! Check out the pics below. What a fantastic facility for the locals. Anytime you see the words "mega" and "playground" in the same sentence, you know it's gotta be worth a look! The Millicent Mega Playground is on the Limestone Coast around 4 hours drive from Adelaide and in one word it's colourful! There's a bunch of slides including a great big double slide, double flying fox, swings, monkey bars, spinners, climbing nets and frames, swings, Apart from being huge, it's also got equipment suitable for all ages, interests and abilities with wheelchair access to some of the equipment, a Liberty Swing and some exercise equipment for the big kids/adults. It's also fully fenced which is…
Find it at: Bowman Park Road, Crystal Brook The incredible new nature play space at Bowman Park Crystal Brook is now open! The photos below just look incredible and we can't wait to head up and have a look on our next road trip. Designed and built by the uber talented folks at Climbing Tree Consultancy (Simon has been promising to show us his shed...which we expect will be EPIC!), built in only 9 weeks (meanwhile painting a toy box has taken me about 3 months so far....) after an idea 3 years in the design and planning, the result is a stunning play space located along the edge of a creek with majestic river redgums and an abundance of local wildlife. What we love is how the whole community has come together for this, with talented local artists and builders providing their amazing skills but also rocks, machinery and other little gems you will find during your adventures. We think they have absolutely nailed it. Just a short drive off the main Highway to Port Pirie and Port Augusta, this is the NEW detour that you just have to take!
Find it at: Park Cres, Brighton We do love ourselves a fully fenced playground and this one at Brighton is little, but covered by lots of natural shade and has equipment suited for the under 5s. It's located in a quiet area and is surrounded by a nice size grass area where you can have more of a run around, kick a ball or have a picnic.
