The South Australian Government School Sports Voucher program was expanded again in 2025 to include 2 x $100 vouchers per child, per calendar year to cover the costs for sport, active recreation and music fees.
The vouchers are available to children living in South Australia in Reception to Year 9
The aim is to increase the number of children participating in physical activity by helping to reduce cost as a barrier and it’s a fantastic initiative to get kids into a range of activities. There is bound to be an activity to suit your little dancer, soccer star or musician!

Voucher Value: Each eligible child can receive two $100 vouchers per calendar year, totaling $200.
Eligibility: Children residing in South Australia, from Reception to Year 9 (typically aged 5 to 15 years), are eligible for the program.
Expanded Coverage: Starting 1 January 2025, the vouchers can be used for a broader range of activities, including:
Sports
Dance
Swimming lessons
Scouts and Guides
Music lessons
Active recreation activities
Usage Flexibility: Families have the option to:
Apply both vouchers to a single provider for a $200 discount.
Split the vouchers between two different providers, each offering a $100 discount.

The program has seen substantial growth
In 2023, 88,749 vouchers were claimed, saving families nearly $9 million.
In 2024, the inclusion of Scouts and Guides led to 96,212 vouchers claimed, totaling over $9.5 million in savings.
The 2024-25 State Budget allocates $54.6 million over four years to further expand the program, aiming to support up to 120,000 school children annually.
