VTech Singing Sounds Microphone

🎤🎤🎤
Q: What’s more fun than a kid with a recorder
A: A kid with a microphone 🤣
Miss 4 here has been singing her way all over the house with this Singing Sounds Microphone. You can connect it via Bluetooth® to listen
and sing along to their favourite songs or to one of the 15 built-in songs. It also has a voice changer option (“Let it Go” in a wobbly voice or the kitty cat rendition of “Cover Me In Sunshine”) and you can even push a button for an instant applause! (I’ve pushed it a few times myself after delivering dinner to the table or after successfully getting both kids to sleep without a hitch – nothing like giving yourself a round of applause for a job well done👏👏)

Suitable for kids aged 2 to 6 years, and available now at Myer, Target, good toy stores and online retailers

VTech Magic Adventures Microscope

Calling all aspiring David Attenborough’s…

Kids are curious by nature and seem to want to know everything about the world around them. And, as parents, we try to encourage and nurture their inquisitive little minds; which is why this educational toy is a winner for both adults and kids alike.

Packed with features including games, video content, images, fun facts and challenges, this is far more than *just* a microscope. Use the smart slides to cover topics such as; flowers, nature, insects, micro animals and more. There’s also two reusaeable slides allowing you to find and add your own samples/ specimens to view up close. Very cool!

The built in LCD screen is amazing. It’s the perfect size for small hands and it’s relatively easy to use. (once you get the hang of it)

This is a great little gift for the budding scientist!

VTech Marble Rush – Corkscrew Challenge

There is something oddly satisfying about a marble run, which might explain why they are such a popular evergreen toy! The VTech Marble Rush – Corkscrew Challenge is an incredibly versatile toy which combines a tech element (one of the pieces has some lights and noises to really add a nice effect to the finished build) with the mental challenge to follow instructions and build a working marble run. We loved so much about this, including the brightly coloured instructions providing very clear instructions on how to complete the build. The pieces are solid and really top notch quality, being really easy for even little fingers to put it together. The instructions comes with 3 designs, increasing in size and complexity, with the easiest design a really simple little run that our 2 year old absolutely loved to play with (under supervision…the little marbles push this one to the 4+ category)

Once you have finished the 3 builds, they have also included plenty of links to online sources for more plans and really, this is proper imagination play intended to allow kids to build their own marble runs. Buy more kits, make it massive and enjoy the ride!

VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX

You know you’re onto a winner when weeks after she first put it on her wrist, it still comes everywhere with us and she’s always busting to show it off to any friends who haven’t already seen it! The Kidizoom Smartwatch not only helps kids learn how to tell the time in digital and analogue it also has 11 touch screen activities including games, action challenges, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, timer, alarm and our favourite feature – a camera for photos AND video!

What I love the most about the Kidizoom is how many games we’ve made up using it. We’ve played spy treasure hunt where she has to find and take photos of various items in and around the house. We’ve set the timer for when she’s brushing her teeth, and we’ve even set up a countdown for bedtime…….and it WORKED!?! 5 minutes was up and off to bed she went. #miraclewatch

Also great that it’s rechargeable via USB and also splash and sweat proof.

VTech Turbo Force Race Track

Our kids have loved the new Turbo Force Racers, which is a really cool concept of remote control car meets scalectrix for younger kids. The kids wear the wristband on their wrist, which doubles as a charging dock as well as a remote control for the mini race cars. Its a cool concept and allows two kids to race their cars against each other. With multiple different track designs, you can change things up to try a few track options. A really cool part about the Turbo Force Racers are that they have a ‘turbo change’ boost – achievable by vigorously shaking the wristband until the turbo is engaged! This gives the race car a boost to get in front of other cars to win the race! Perfect for kids aged 2-9 years old, the Vtech Turbo Force Race Track is a sure hit with our 5 and 7 years olds and their friends

Available at Big W and other good toy stores.

Leapfrog On-the-Go Story Pal

Honestly one of the best toys I’ve reviewed the Leapfrog On-the-Go Story Pal has been used every night since we got it. If you’re an interstate Nan or Grandpa, have a FIFO parent in the house, a favourite Aunty who lives far away or just know a story loving kid this is the gift for you. It comes pre loaded with 30 stories, poems, songs and lullabies BUT the best part is that you can also voice record our own stories or songs. Nanna is here reading and recording Miss 3’s favourite book so she can listen to it every night when our interstate Nanna goes back home (sob)

Leapfrog LeapPods Max

Our 7 year old LOVES her LeapPods Max headphones and I love that she can listen to music, stories and relaxations without having to resort to YouTube.

They came with a range of modes, including Dance Party, Instrumentals, Adventure, Challenges and more. So no matter where you are or what mood your kid is in, there is a mode to suit! These are perfect for on the go, in the car or to take when you want a bit of adult coversation without the kids overhearing or interupting. They are rechargable via USB, so there’s no need to worry about batteries.

It also has a Bluetooth setting so they can listen to music or podcasts via a device, but we’ve found that the built in modes and music have been plenty for now!

LeapLand Adventures Learning Video Game

We tried the LeapLand Adventure Learning Video Game for my almost 4 year old. Her older sister gets a bit of Minecraft time when she’s earned it and we thought this might be a fun, easy option for her to try. This is a simple quest type game where you choose a character and explore Letterland, Numberville, Shapetown and Colour Springs. Hunt for keys to unlock the castle and learn about letters, numbers, shapes and colors along the way. A fun way to practice ABC’s and 123’s.
