Adelaide Dining Magazine

Family Friendly Eats

If you’re an Adelaide parent who still loves great food and a cracking cocktail but sometimes feels a little out of touch with what’s new on the restaurant and dining scene (hello, playground research era), Adelaide Dining Magazine is your secret weapon. Published by talented local Director/Owner Shantal Hart and her Adelaide-based team, this beautifully curated magazine has become the go-to guide for South Australia’s food and beverage landscape. It champions our best restaurants, bars, wineries and experiences, all wrapped up in a polished, easy-to-use format that feels both aspirational and approachable.

For our Kids in Adelaide community, this magazine comes into it’s own when the kids are not the priority. Think milestone birthdays, anniversaries, visiting grandparents, or those rare and precious date nights or nights out with the girls where you’re ready to say: ditch the kids eat free… we are going out, baby! When you’re more accustomed to choosing venues based on playground proximity and nugget quality, Adelaide Dining Magazine helps you reconnect with what’s happening right now in the restaurant and cocktail scene, without hours of scrolling or second-guessing. It genuinely removes the overwhelm. Of course it also features some family friendly venues too, and we’re incredibly proud to contribute a Kids in Adelaide spread to help ensure family-friendly vendors and artisans are part of the conversation. In the currens 2026 edition, we have put together a feature article ‘Sweet Eats and Kids Treats’, showcasing the most on trend and instagramable food treats around Adelaide that families will enjoy.

You’ll find Adelaide Dining Magazine in leading accommodation venues across South Australia, making it a brilliant discovery tool for locals and visitors alike. You can also purchase it online, as well as from select newsagents around the state. It’s the kind of magazine that earns a permanent place on the coffee table perfect for sharing with visiting family and friends. Flicking through together is a reminder of just how world-class our South Australian food and beverage scene really is, and a lovely way to show off a little local pride.

Additionally, Adelaide Dining Magazine has a fabulous user friendly website, and they are well worth a follow on Instagram and Facebook.

Each year, the magazine hosts its highly anticipated annual awards, celebrating excellence across the industry and we’re incredibly honoured to sponsor the Best Family Friendly Venue award. A huge congratulations to this year’s winner, Skillogalee Winery – a much-loved destination that proves great food, great wine and welcoming families can absolutely go hand in hand.

  • We sure have some fabulous breweries here in Adelaide but did you know that a lot are family and kid friendly? We are talking good quality venues, where the parents can responsibly enjoy a drink or two, while the kids are well and truly catered for with some fabuluos facilities. Because being a parent doesn't have to mean some outings can't be about us! If we have missed any places you love, shoot us a message and let us know!

  • This brand new Adelaide café, situated smack bang on the beachfront where Kingston Park meets Seacliff Beach, is going to be the most unreal place to hang out with family and friends this spring and summer. Nest Kiosk is the perfect spot for a bite to eat with kids or for that long overdue coffee, sweet treat, breakfast or lunch catch up - with a million dollar view. Meet you for a beach walk or swim? The outlook at Nest Kiosk is stunning all year around. Bonus if it is a beautiful sunny day, however during winter you can sit snuggly indoors and watch the clouds roll in over the ocean (this any one else's love language?) There are ample seating options with tables indoors, outside under cover and even little benches and tables directly opposite the shoreline, offering uninterrupted water views. Outdoors is also perfect if your little one doesn't like to sit for too long, as they can run about on the beachfront path, or older kids could even play down on the sand where you can still keep an eye on them while waiting for your order. Now, it's a little bit hidden, but we love that,…

  • Adelaide Fringe is of course famous for it's performances, shows and art installations BUT it's also one such a great opportunity to get down to the city and try some new food flavours, some crazy treats or just a good old ice cream from one of the many many food trucks and vendors that set up for the month of Adelaide Fringe. It's actually one of our Fringe highlights and you guys have now come to expect that we share it with you - so here are our favourite food-y finds. Make sure to tag us in your FB and IG posts if you find something we need to try and if it blows our head off, we will add it to this page!
