Tagsy Workshops

Have your children ever doodled on their shoes? But then never worn them again?
What if we told you we found a place that gives children the freedom to ‘tag’ their own high-top sneakers.
A place where children are expressing their creativity and walking away with a pair of custom, one-of-a-kind high-top sneakers that truly reflect their style and personality.

Step into The World of Tagsy… and allow your children to unleash their creativity by tagging their shoes.

Tagsy workshops are returning for the Adelaide July school holidays, this time even better – hosted at What the Croque Cafe, parents can take a breather with a great coffee and indulge in one of those delicious French inspired toasties we have all been hearing about. A playground awaits those little siblings who are not old enough to join the workshop.

Tagsy focuses on individuality and creativity by offering exclusive kits that contain all the essentials to tag a one-of-a-kind pair of high-top sneakers. At their 2-hour workshop, children aged 8-12 can transform a pair of plain white high-top canvas sneakers into wearable art. Using the provided tools and specially designed stencils for guidance, along with easy-to-follow steps, children can create without the worry of making a mistake and not being able to fix.

After tagging their shoes, children can choose a pair of vibrant custom Tagsy laces to complement their designs and proudly walk away with unique kicks of their own creation.

Tagsy even offers post-workshop activities to keep children engaged and active during the holidays.

All necessary equipment and art supplies, including shoes in various sizes, are be provided at the workshop.

July School Holidays at the Museums

Sensory friendly morning at the SA Museum

8am – 9:45am | 20 July 2024

A quiet, sensory friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends, and support workers.

Visitors with sensory and/or accessibility needs can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum out of hours. This is a chance to see all the permanent galleries, the latest exhibitions, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before.

While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for our neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the evening to make it a more sensory friendly experience.

Attendees can enjoy the Museum’s galleries and exhibitions and sensory backpacks will be available to borrow free of charge.

This is a ticketed event for people with sensory and/or accessibility needs and their accompanying family, friends, and support workers.

Please order a pay-what-you-can ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.

Guided by a performer, they journey through five interactive spaces to reveal hidden animal tracks and discover animals from the past, present, and possible future. Children create their own mythical creatures, bring them to life with recorded sounds and spectacular rainbow lighting, and capture their fantastical shadows on a magical glow wall.

A theatrical presentation full of Patch’s renowned interactive light play, Superluminal takes its inspiration from the South Australian Museum’s collections of extraordinary objects. Throughout the installation, children are encouraged to discover nature’s extraordinary creatures, systems, and beauty, and how time shapes them.
