Not a bad little backstreet playground this one, which is a good spot for the locals and if you happen to be in the area and the kids need to run off some steam. It has a picnic chair, table and some lovely grassed space which was really nice on the sunny day we visited. Plenty of shade from the trees and the playground has a good variety of equipment to cater for the under 10s mainly. With a nice big twirly slide, swings, lots of monkey bars and other climbing sets to muck around on. The flying fox was a hit with our crew too as was the purple climbing thingy which we couldn’t settle on a name for…but it was fun!
No toilets, no water fountains, no BBQs sadly, but parking is not an issue here. It isn’t fenced either but it is set quite a way off the road so safety wise it isn’t much of an issue there either. Our little crew had a great time here so be sure to check it out if you are in the area.
Oh it also backs onto Westminster School, so be sure to check out the sheep!!
This recently upgraded playground at Montreal Avenue Reserve in Novar Gardens has some great little play pieces for toddler and early school aged kids. It has lots of bright colours, so its hard not to miss it when you arrive. With lots of grass, and some soft landings in the right places, this is great play space for the younger kids The playground features some good climbing pieces more suitable to the younger ages and a dual slippery dip that can be accessed by a bridge and is easy to teach the little ones to walk over the bridge. It has a small spider web climbing frame along with a mini rock climb wall. Other than the slide the most popular piece for us was the nest and toddler swing. The playground also features a bouncy animal along with a bright yellow sea saw. It has a little "shop" nestled under the slides which was serving up delicious coffee and cake, which only cost me a few bark chips! Great little space for imaginative play. Montreal Avenue Reserve is surrounded with trees so another fab area for the kids to play amongst and HEAPS of space to kick a ball…
Find it at: Delhi Avenue, Hillcrest Check out the new Delhi Avenue Reserve playspace in Hillcrest which is now open. This new cool little playground features an adventure play space, slide, swing, climbing net, hanging bars and loads more. The locals love the addition and it is a fantastic improvement in the space. Alongside the playground there is a new nature play area and new half court surfacing. Total cost of this new playground was $188,000 for design, construction, purchase of equipment and installation. Shade for the playground is on the agenda so watch this space!
Cafe Bonython at the Bonython Park Playground is definitely a Kids In Adelaide favourite! You could literally spend a day here! Where else can you find an excellent cafe, within eyeball distance of the playground, watch planes over head, walk to the train bridge, feed ducks, kick a ball, fly a kite, ride a tram and wash it all down with an excellent coffee and babyccino? There's so much happening at this delightful little space. Better still, it's good. You can also book a birthday party here and have everything taken care of and don't even get us started about the little Monday community they are building here - Mummas, on Mondays you can pop by for a play and something to eat and they will provide a drink for you free of charge! That sounds like a wonderful way to meet other Mums and kids doesn't it? On our most recent visit we absolutely loved the simplified kids milkshakes. Not too crazy, but still very cute and fun - perfect for little hands. Want the cutest cupcake treat? This place! Ownership changed at the start of 2025, so we gave it a couple of months and decided to check…
