First up, we can’t wait to visit Melba’s new location in Angaston for their Easter long weekend celebration. Barossa Chocolate Factory

Pick up a Mary Hoppins, Floppsy or Easter eggs of all sizes from the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. All made, finished and packed by hand in their Tanunda facility.
Buy online or even better, pop up to their store to try before you buy! As soon as you lay eyes on these eggs, you can tell what fantastic quality they are.

It’s hard to pick a favourite, as always, the whole Easter range looks great and taste devine. These would make the perfect Easter gift. 


Gelato Messina

Adelaide’s hottest new Gelato just got even better! LOOK AT THESE EGGS! Milk chocolate, milo mousse, oreo crumble, hazelnut praline, malted vanilla chantilly, milo gelato, oreo cookie chunks and a hazelnut caramel centre. This year Haigh’s have of course got all your Easter favourites covered with their range of traditional chocolate eggs in all sizes perfect for hunting, gifting and sharing. There’s also some specialty treats including frog filled eggs, mini egg and speckle filled half eggs and my personal fave, the honeycomb egg. 😋

But the sure winner for kids has got to be the gorgeous, snuggly Easter Bilby toy who comes with a premium Haigh’s milk chocolate 50g egg. Want something a bit WOW? The Patisserie at Adelaide’s finest supermarket is currently a buzz with busy chocolatiers creating bespoke Easter eggs, chocolate bars, Easter cakes and pastries. These are next level pretty (think golden bronzed rabbits), berry eggs and dark chocolate wattle seed, as well as more traditionally crafted treats. Both Frewville and Pasadena are well stocked! These make perfect gifts for someone special!



A South Australian Icon, it is obviously local tradition to eat fruchocs on as many days of the year as possible, but did you know they also whip out some sensational Easter eggs? You read that right folks….Fruchoc Easter Eggs. Mind. Blown!

And now that Violet Crumble has joined the Menz family? There are so many options to fill your Easter baskets with world class South Aussie chocolate, how are you possibly going to pick?  Pop into one of their local outlets or shop online. We strongly suggest you try them all!


Melba’s Chocolates

Whether you are a dark, milk or white chocolate lover, Melba’s has you covered! They have a delicious range of Easter Eggs and chocolate Bilbies to keep everyone happy. In fact, they have partnered with Zoos SA and part proceeds from all chocolate bilbies sold will be donated towards bilby conservation.

Available to purchase in store from March 15th, these Uovo Di Cioccolato eggs at St Louis come in three different flavours and we think they are divine (yes, we have had a sneaky try prior to release!)

Select from Milk & Hazelnut, White & Pistachio or Ruby & Rasberry. PLUS just for a bit of added exitment, the St Louis crew have hidden a golden ticket in one egg! If you find it, you will win 15kg of their signature couverture chocolate.

How good do the freckle eggs from Just Bliss chocolates look! Available in dark and milk in a range of sizes these are a guaranteed Easter hit. Shop online or pop in to see them in Rundle Mall.


Tony & Marks

Tony & Marks have a great fun range of Eater Eggs and alternatives. We absolutley love the Papi Pistachio Egg this year, Australias first pistachio Easter Egg! But hurry, these won’t last long….. think creamy white chocolate, swirled in pieces of caramelised pistachio. We can also never go past the Cloud Theory Easter Edition – hand crafted gourmet marshmallows stocked at all Tony & Marks locations and ofcourse you can find a great little range from our Barossa Valley Chocolate Company friends here too.


Hokey Pokey Stirling

A stunning home made chocolate (as well as ice cream and gelato) shop in historic Stirling, any trip up the freeway into the hills is made so much sweeter with a visit to Hokey Pokey.

Look out for them at various festivals and events around town with their van, but where ever you see them, Tim and Helen’s creations are absolutely superb.

  • These are a great little Easter treat that the whole family can join in on making. So fun and easy and YUMMY! Thanks to Jess from Cook n Create for this great Easter idea. Ingredients 200g chocolate broken into pieces (TIP: You can always mix chocolates to make up the 200g)85g Shredded wheat (You can also use Cornflakes, Rice crispies, Weetbix etc – Whatever cereals you have just make sure they are crushed)2 x 100g bags of mini eggs Method Melt the chocolate in a small glass bowl placed over a saucepan of barely simmering water (Do it slowly – Believe it or not chocolate burns really easily!)In another bowl crush the cerealPour the chocolate over the crushed cereal and mix thoroughly (A metal spoon is easiest)Spoon the mixture into the 12 cupcake cases (Use a cupcake tin if you can to keep the shape)Use the back of a metal teaspoon to firmly press the mixture into the cases. Make a little dip in each nest for the eggs to sit.Place ¾ mini eggs in each nest and chill in the fridge for an hour or so. ENJOY!

  • I remember a few years ago, once the kids were sound asleep, I sat down with a wine in hand & put a Christmas movie on to wrap their Christmas presents. When I saw the sheer amount of gifts I had bought for them over the year (to “put away for Christmas”) I was disgusted with myself.
