How hot is this! Visit the Jam Factory viewing platform and you can watch daily glass blowing demonstrations from the glass studio.

From the viewing platform (safely above the workshop floor) you can see the vats that house the molten glass, the furnaces the artists use to regularly bring the glass back up to temperature, the workspace where they mould and fashion their art and the kilns to fire them once finished.

The skill and courage of the glassworkers is incredible to watch.

  • Find it at: Marine Parade, Port Vincent Firstly....check out the view! Located right next on the beach front on Marine Parade, the location is sensational. It was a fun playground with many play options to keep the kids busy after a big day exploring Yorkes. It has pebble flooring, 2 public bbq's, plenty of seating and an incredible beach view. Oh the view! The park boasts fencing on 3 sides and an easy to supervise access point of the 4th side, with easy access to stairs down to the beautiful beach. There are plenty of rubbish bins and shaded seating. The only downsides are that the park itself isn't shaded and public toilets are across the road, behind the Town Hall. One last bonus is that there is a kiosk right next to the playground to grab a nice cold ice block on those super hot days. Come on, we know you can imagine eating hot chips while the kids play on the playground and beach! Bliss.

  • I. LOVE. MARKETS! I've been on both sides of the market stall, and I am a big fan. Give me a fresh juice, some live music, and some cheese samples and I will come a running. Here in Adelaide we are so lucky to have so many fantastic markets to choose from so we've gathered up the ones we know about and added them all to this page. It's updated constantly with new markets added all the time so make sure you check back each weekend to find out where your local market is, or discover a new Adelaide market to check out this weekend!

  • You can now experience Melba's Chocolate Factory in two fantastic, picturesque locations - their original factory in Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, and now in Angaston in the beautiful Barossa Valley! Melbas Chocolates in Woodside, Adelaide Hills Melba's Chocolate Factory is located just past the main shopping area of Woodside, about 40mins east of Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills. It is a great place to take the family on a day trip or main destination around which to plan a few hours in the Hills one day. When we were kids I spent a LOT of time helping myself to the samples at Melba's as my sister used to ride horses at one of the nearby properties and I had a lot of spare time to kill in the area. I was always fascinated to watch the process of making the chocolate, toffee traffic lights and other delicious goodies (the samples were an added bonus!). The current site is known as 'Heritage Park' and houses Melba's Chocolate Factory and a range of other cottage industries such as the next door Cheese Factory, so there really is something for everyone here. The factory has been transformed into a large emporium styled…
