Situated on the grassed area behind the Karawatha Community Hall this new Nature play space at Baden Terrace has literally JUST opened. When we visited a week or so ago the fence and bunting were still up. Today the bunting is still up but the fence has been removed and playground is OPEN to use.

Featuring a lovely combination of nature play and equipment this play space is all about being back to nature. It has large rocks for the kids to jump between or play on ,wooden pieces positioned in the dirt for the kids to jump between, timber step mound, dirt paths to ride your bike or scooter around all set amongst the newly planted shrubs. The play equipment has all been made with wood to keep inline with the nature theme .It features a nest swing, 3 built in the ground trampolines, a slippery dip that can be accessed from the tower via big steps or ropes, a large climbing rope feature wall, wooden spinning tops , a sea saw, a springy log ride for the little ones and an outdoor tennis table.

Attached to the existing Karawatha Community Centre the reserve already has sports courts than can be utilised and will be upgraded as part of the plan to also feature a basketball ring. The reserve also has water fountains and electric BBQs with a new seating area . The reserve does NOT have a fence and NO shade cloth. As the old trees and new trees grow the shade will increase. Appears the toilets are located inside the hall so not available when using playground. Suitable for all ages the Onkaparinga council have done a lovely job of this local play space.

  • Find it at: Brooklyn Drive, Hallett Cove The Brooklyn Drive Reserve playground is open and after rigorous testing by a KiA crew, it has been given the tick of approval. Not a huge space, but a great spot for locals, this timber themed playground has enough to keep most ages entertained while you take 5 during your probably hectic schedule! There is a swing (plus a toddler swing), as well as monkey bars (to be fair they are fairly low hanging so taller squids may drag their feet a tad) and a climbing tower with slide. Not bad! Chuck in some unique features like 4-square handball court and capture the flag instructions and a mud kitchen! For the parents, there are no toilets but there is a shaded seating area. No shade over the equipment either so it may get pretty hot as there aren't many trees either. Stuck for a bite to eat after your play? We highly recommend the nearby Cafe Rimini at Hallett Cove. • Find it at: Everard Avenue, Keswick This fab little playground had several upgrades through 2024 and 2025. This place is a fantastic local facility, with a shaded modern playground full of unique climbing areas for the kids to explore. The whole playground is shaded by sails in fact, with a number of play areas with a range of equipment to suit most ages. Throw in a fantastic oval, basketball court, pump track and tennis court facilities, and this precinct becomes a one stop shop for a fab arvo for the locals. Plenty of off street parking, BBQ facilities, toilets and water fountains round off a nice little spot. Thanks to Surface Contractors Australia for the images of the courts.
