  • This local playground /park is suitable for a mixture of age groups however the play equipment only caters for toddlers. The equipment features a small swing set including baby swing, 2 small slippery dips , a swinging hammock , climbing area and a couple of small play equipment. Half the area is covered by shade .What is great about this park/reserve is that the play equipment area is fenced off, has a good size grassed area and a half key basketball court. Within this area you also have the use of toilets and BBQ facilities. What I also like about this park is that outside the fenced playground area you also have the use of tennis courts and for the pooch lovers there is a huge dog park /sports field. It even has off street parking. Why not bring the family, put a sausage on the BBQ, have a hit of tennis or try for a slam dunk on the basketball key whilst you also get to keep the pooch happy at the dog park. In need of a coffee on the way you either have OTR service station on the corner  of Diagonal and Oaklands Road ( probably not…

Not only do playgrounds often cater to a mix of ages but they regularly feature slides and climbing equipment that can entice little humans to bite off a little more than they can chew. For this reason, the Lightsview Toddler Playground is a hidden gem. Situated in the leafy suburban neighbourhood of Lightsview the playground is fully fenced, surrounded by leafy trees and features a nice selection of well spaced play equipment. Walking up to the play area there is a grassy area that separates the playground from the road and provides a nice spot for picnics. As you come closer you will find a drink fountain an undercover table and chairs and two entry points to the playground. Inside the fenced grounds there is a swing with two seats, a jungle gym with two slides, a small car, bouncey helicopter, sea saw and two in ground trampolines. The park also features a protective rubber ground covering so that a lesser impact is felt when tumbles occur.  Depending on the…

  • Find it at: Just off Churchill Road, Kilburn At a cost of $150 grand, the Peter McKay Reserve (Just off Churchill Road....about a stones throw from Costco) upgrade is open and ready to go. With new equipment including a double slide, climbing frame, trampoline and carousel, plus rubber matting all around, it looks a cool little park. Council have also mentioned planning for shade which would be a great addition!
