  • This recently upgraded playground at Montreal Avenue Reserve in Novar Gardens has some great little play pieces for toddler and early school aged kids. It has lots of bright colours, so its hard not to miss it when you arrive. With lots of grass, and some soft landings in the right places, this is great play space for the younger kids The playground features some good climbing pieces more suitable to the younger ages and a dual slippery dip that can be accessed by a bridge and is easy to teach the little ones to walk over the bridge. It has a small spider web climbing frame along with a mini rock climb wall. Other than the slide the most popular piece for us was the nest and toddler swing. The playground also features a bouncy animal along with a bright yellow sea saw. It has a little "shop" nestled under the slides which was serving up delicious coffee and cake, which only cost me a few bark chips! Great little space for imaginative play. Montreal Avenue Reserve is surrounded with trees so another fab area for the kids to play amongst and HEAPS of space to kick a ball…

  • Find it at: The Parkway, Fulham Garden Located directly behind Target at Fulham Gardens this playground can't be missed with its bright orange play equipment. With a little something for everyone, the favourite and most obvious piece of equipment is quite a steep tubular slide with the BIG smiley face at the end. Located either side of the tubular slide are 2 more slides with slightly gentler slopes, leaving the kids with a lot of sliding choice. The main play piece has lots of climbing parts, including a rope net, mini combat, mini climbing wall , stairs poles and lots more. The play area also features a swing set, including a toddler swing, along with a large sand pit with hop on digger for the little ones to use. Situated around the play equipment you will also see little pockets of nature play for the kids to play on including stumps, rocks and lots of grass and trees around. This playground has no toilets, shade ( besides the trees ) or fence so is very much a local playground or a quick place to drop into if you are in the area. There is a coffee shop in the Target…

  • Find it at: Yanyarrie Avenue, Edwardstown A beautiful brand new playground opened in May 2021, nestled snugly in the backstreets of Edwardstown, you will find City of Marion designed (Talented Jason Avery at work here again) ripping spot to relax and take a moment out of your busy day. With a huge nest swing, a really cool climbing boulder and some in-ground tramps, you won't find a tremendous amount of equipment, but what they have done is create a relaxing and peaceful space for local parents to unwind and let their little crew run or scoot (neat little bike track path winds throughout the playground too) around. It isn't fully fenced, but the side street is relatively quiet. Throw in a basketball court, water fountain and a lovely undercover seating space and this is a fantastic development for local families.
