Where: Market Cres, Old Noarlunga

As a southerner most of my life, who grew up around this spot and visited constantly and went to a zillion kids parties here, I never thought of it as much of a ‘hidden gem’ but it is kind of the definition of one! Tucked away in beautiful Old Noarlunga (a township that is bypassed by all the main roads), the Market Square is a magnificent setting for a playground, picnic, feeding the ducks by the Onkaparinga River or birthday party.

With all the facilities you want, like a toilet, shade and seating, BBQs, nearby coffee shops (one across the road is a beauty) and serenity (not really a facility but its nice to have!), it is easy to see why this is such a favourite with the south.

The playground is great for the younger kids and has several swings, a bunch of smaller equipment scattered around and different types of swings. The grassed area is huge and an absolute cracker for a game of cricket of footy with the family.

Side note….Old Noarlunga do amazing Christmas Lights so make sure you include this on your travels too.

  • I. LOVE. MARKETS! I've been on both sides of the market stall, and I am a big fan. Give me a fresh juice, some live music, and some cheese samples and I will come a running. Here in Adelaide we are so lucky to have so many fantastic markets to choose from so we've gathered up the ones we know about and added them all to this page. It's updated constantly with new markets added all the time so make sure you check back each weekend to find out where your local market is, or discover a new Adelaide market to check out this weekend!

The main kids playground area is located in one corner of the park The main playground is;- Totally shaded - Fully fenced - Close to onsite toilets - Has "access for all ramps" that are wheelchair accessible - Equipment in the fenced section includes swings, slides, climbing and balancing, monkey bars, bridges, ladders. There's lots to keep little ones very happy! Oh and just in case the play equipment isn't enough, this park also has a FULL SIZE TRAIN with a ramp to jump in the back. All aboard the Apex Express! The main attraction of Victoria Park though has got to he the new Treetop Playground that adventurous kids will LOVE! It was completed in late 2018 with a climbing net to the top (9 meters up) and an epic steep, twisty and bendy slide. It's pretty awesome! It's located at the other side of the park near the rotunda (don't worry you won't miss it) It's not far from the fenced playground,…
