  • Find it at: West Park Way, McLaren Vale Located just off Main Road down at the stunning McLaren Vale, this stunning reserve is home to one of the most picturesque playgrounds down south, especially when the trees are in bloom. With a climbing sphere, swings, plenty of grass and did we mention the nearby tank (which is always a show stopper), this precinct makes for a great stop and leg stretch on your McLaren Vale day trip. The larger precinct also has BBQs, tennis courts and a BMX track! The larger area includes toilets and plenty of grassed areas to sit down with your fruchocs (its compulsory to visit the Fruchoc Shop at McVale) and soak in the serenity.

  • This winery goes by two names. The wines are called Fork in the Road wines and the venue as such is called Old Oval Estate and it’s the sweetest family run winery. Old Oval Estate has a lovely home away from home feel and before my visit I had someone tell me it’s their favourite place to take the kids and I can see why. The location and space lend itself to being a great place to head for a platter and catch up with friends and/or family. So that’s what we did when we met another family there for an afternoon of playing, platters and wine. With kids ranging in age from 4 to 14 who were happy the whole time, we think it’s a winner. There are many spaces to enjoy. You can sit out the front of the cellar door or enjoy a tasting in the cellar door then head out the back to the garden and that’s where I think the magic begins. There are tables scattered around the gorgeous manicured gardens and then there is a beautiful patio area that is heated and has me dreaming up having a birthday party there. When it comes…

  • Cafe Bonython at the Bonython Park Playground is definitely a Kids In Adelaide favourite! You could literally spend a day here! Where else can you find an excellent cafe, within eyeball distance of the playground, watch planes over head, walk to the train bridge, feed ducks, kick a ball, fly a kite, ride a tram and wash it all down with an excellent coffee and babyccino? There's so much happening at this delightful little space. Better still, it's good. You can also book a birthday party here and have everything taken care of and don't even get us started about the little Monday community they are building here - Mummas, on Mondays you can pop by for a play and something to eat and they will provide a drink for you free of charge! That sounds like a wonderful way to meet other Mums and kids doesn't it? On our most recent visit we absolutely loved the simplified kids milkshakes. Not too crazy, but still very cute and fun - perfect for little hands. Want the cutest cupcake treat? This place! Ownership changed at the start of 2025, so we gave it a couple of months and decided to check…
