Find it at: Victoria Terrace, Port Victoria

A stunning beachside playground with lots to choose from. A challenging experience for little ones with rock climbing walls, balancing paths and lots of climbing. There is seating nearby and toilets are a short walk away (near the jetty). The BBQ costs a couple of dollars so if you want to cook bring some gold coins. After your play I’d recommend taking the stairs down to the beach and either taking a walk or climbing the rocks. We walked under the jetty and there was a lot to see. A local cafe is perfect for a snack if you haven’t brought anything along. Plenty of car parks.

  • Find it at: Marine Parade, Port Vincent Firstly....check out the view! Located right next on the beach front on Marine Parade, the location is sensational. It was a fun playground with many play options to keep the kids busy after a big day exploring Yorkes. It has pebble flooring, 2 public bbq's, plenty of seating and an incredible beach view. Oh the view! The park boasts fencing on 3 sides and an easy to supervise access point of the 4th side, with easy access to stairs down to the beautiful beach. There are plenty of rubbish bins and shaded seating. The only downsides are that the park itself isn't shaded and public toilets are across the road, behind the Town Hall. One last bonus is that there is a kiosk right next to the playground to grab a nice cold ice block on those super hot days. Come on, we know you can imagine eating hot chips while the kids play on the playground and beach! Bliss.

  • Find it at: Rodgers Terrace, Maitland On the corner of Rogers Terrace and Robert St in Maitland there is a great combination playground. It boasts both the typical metal/plastic style playground with a large wooden climbing section. There is a spinning ride (although beware after rain as it fills with water), swings, a big slide, a digger and climbing equipment. It is surrounded by fence for most of the playground with just a small gap for entering (not secure). It has a car park, shaded seating, a free bbq, a double cricket pitch and it's just a short walk to nearby toilets.Fun for the whole family!

  • Find it at: Mundy Street, Port Adelaide With the whole area going though some major redevelopment, Hart's Mill playground was opened to the public in mid 2014 with a great space for families to play at Port Adelaide. Coupled a spot of dolphin watching and hitting up the markets, this makes a great family trip. The eyecatching, 3 story tower with metal slide is the centrepiece of the Hart's Mill Playground Port Adelaide and the slide is a huge hit. It's faster than the 'usual' metal slides and you'll need that 3 meter flat section at the end to be sure you don't slide off the end so take care with younger kids until they are comfortable. Suited to kids aged 3 and up, younger kids will probably have a hard time climbing up the ladders anyway. Other highlights are the sandpit with multilevel climbing/building station that includes a pulley sandscoop and sandchutes that are always popular - BYO small sand shovel and bucket for extra fun! There's a great seated flying fox that kids of all ages will love, 'spider web' climbing frames, medium hampster wheel, swings and more. There are some undercover bench tables and free electric BBQs outside…
