Find it at: Wilkinson Road, Para Hills

The City of Salisbury has spruced up the (FULLY FENCED) play space at Prettejohn Gully Reserve in Para Hills, with new play equipment including a multi play unit, activity box, monkey bars, musical equipment, talking tubes, carousel, two-person springer, sandpit and swings. While the kids play under the recently constructed shade structure, you can relax under the new shelter which features a picnic setting. Wheelchair access to the colourful play space is available from the Para Hills Community Hub carpark.

There’s some public toilets inside the Para Hills Community Hub right next door and also outside the Hub (along the brick wall you can see in the first photo). This one looks fantastic and such a great facility for the Para Hills community. The Woolworths is really close too if you need supplies for that last minute picnic or if you just want snacks because everyone loves playground snacks right?

  • Find it at: Kooralla Grove, Kidman Park What a great little park this one is. With a fantastic range of play equipment, including some reasonably challenging climbing equipment to a playground with an enclosed twirly slide, this has something for most ages. It even has a heap of outdoor gym equipment but lets be honest, apart from sitting on the ski swingy one, nobody has ever used any of it....or is that just us? No toilets is the only let down here, but it has a BBQ, seating, a mix of toddler and traditional swings, several slides and is a really beautiful spot. There is no fencing but the river is about 100m away and it is in a nice quiet back street so you shouldn't have many issues.

  • Find it at: Phillip Avenue, Leabrook This quaint little neighbourhood playground is nestled in the quiet suburb of Leabrook and the was upgraded in 2024. Fully fenced and whilst there is no shade provided, the playground is situated under some beautiful big old gum trees that do provide some protection from the sun. There are also a few smaller trees around the edge off the grassed area that provide small amounts of shade for those wanting a small picnic space . This park is more suitable for toddlers. Unfortunately no toilets or BBQ facilities are located in this park. Thanks for City of Burnside of the images.
