The fantastic playground upgrade at Beachport is complete and it is fantastic!

The playground is headlined by easily one of the best playground pirate ships in the state, with plenty of sand play, climbing rope equipment, flying fox, slides and swings. There really is so much to do for all ages and how about the view! Just a stunning attraction for families in the region and all those from the city who head to the south east on road trips every holidays and long weekend.

Council, with the support of the Federal Government, completed a major upgrade of the Susan Wilson Memorial Playground in Beachport. The project budget was $350,000, which includes $200,000 in government grant funding through the Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program. More info here from the Council.

  • Find it at: Rodgers Terrace, Maitland On the corner of Rogers Terrace and Robert St in Maitland there is a great combination playground. It boasts both the typical metal/plastic style playground with a large wooden climbing section. There is a spinning ride (although beware after rain as it fills with water), swings, a big slide, a digger and climbing equipment. It is surrounded by fence for most of the playground with just a small gap for entering (not secure). It has a car park, shaded seating, a free bbq, a double cricket pitch and it's just a short walk to nearby toilets.Fun for the whole family!

  • Find it at: Pederick Road, Lewiston It's a beautiful playground in such a quiet area. There is little traffic passing by and its enclosed. The playground is in good repair, clean and lots of fun for a range of ages. There is a bbq area with plenty of undercover seating, rubbish bins and a public toilet. The carpark is off the road and has plenty of space and there's even a wetlands walking track. Whilst there we noticed that previous families had taken chalk and done drawing on the brick pathways so that's another idea for keeping the children entertained. There is also a grassy area for ball play. It's definitely somewhere I'll be taking my family for a picnic in the future.
