An Adelaide first; the thrilling ‘cliff rider’ has arrived at The Entrance Playground. This playground was developed in 2025 within a new housing development in Angle Vale located off of Heaslip Road.
While the playground is suited to younger children, the cliff rider is definitely aimed for older kids who love taking a risk and are comfortable with heights. We recently visited this playground and it took us a few turns to get the hang of pushing off. Once we had it, is actually quite a fun and easy ride. We also were able to support our younger children so that they didn’t miss out by holding and moving the pole for them.
located close to Gawler River Brewing why not stop off for lunch and a drink after your play. We call that a perfect family day out!

Find it at: Miravale The fences are down at the Miravale housing development playground at Angle Vale! With some touches on their fantastic play space in the heart of the development, still being done but the locals are loving it! With a great tower and tube slide the centre piece, rock climbing wall, gym equipment, pump track, basketball court and with nature play and a whole range of other equipment for the kids to play on, this will be a winner with locals. We loved the undercover BBQ area which will be a very busy birthday party spot we reckon. Oh did we mention there are toilets?!! Word of warning they are in the development sales centre, so they are sometimes closed if the office isn't staffed. It is also really close to the local Drakes, Angle Vale Tavern, Sneaky's Restaurant and Virgara Wines so a great spot for the day trippers to plan their trek out north. Lacking a bit of shade at the moment, which is common for new developments, but give it time as they have planted a lot of trees (and have installed some nice shaded seating areas) so this should grow nicely into a really…
We recently visited Gawler River Brewing and it’s safe to say this one’s gone straight onto our list of favourite family-friendly spots. Just outside of Angle Vale, it’s close enough to be an easy-ish drive but still far enough to feel like you’ve escaped the suburbs for the afternoon. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and clearly loved by locals - despite the winter chill, the place was packed, which says a lot about how good it is. What really sets it apart for families is the enormous grassy area where you’ll often find a dozen or more kids kicking the footy, running around and making the most of the wide open space. There’s also a beautifully landscaped garden with little paths and a creek to explore, which our kids loved. It’s a space where they can play nearby while parents enjoy a drink and keep a close eye on things - we’ll cheers to that! Even on a cold winter afternoon, it was comfortable thanks to the open fire and outdoor heaters scattered around the long tables on the patio. There’s also a lovely decked area with tables and umbrellas overlooking a little waterhole, perfect for a chilled arvo catch-up.…
