It's not often my family can go out for dinner and truly not able to finish another bite, but that is exactly what happened at The Bavarian TTP. We popped in to try out their new $49 Feed the Family Deal (available daily before 6pm) and it was sensational! This wasn’t a bucket of nuggets trash meal either, this was high quality German-inspired fare with a great variety to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. (great beers too just quietly with the steins on point!) This share-style deal is designed for two adults and two children under 12 and begins with a plate of huge salted pretzels that were well received by my fussy clan. The main course of what seemed like an unlimited amount of chicken schnitzels with mushroom sauce (we couldn’t eat them all and we have a family of 5!), fantastic salad (again it felt like it was served in a cauldron....so much food!) and a big bowl of chips to finish off the meal. Oh and don’t forget dessert! Save some room for a great little apple strudel for the adults and ice cream for the kids. The regular menu has lots of options including burgers,…
Find it at: Montrose St, Ferryden Park Located on Montrose St at Ferryden Park, this little spot has just had $155, 000 spent on an upgrade which is now open! There is new play equipment including a rubber softfall mat, slide, bouncy buggy, trampolines and double swings. They have also installed two new park seats and a new drinking fountain!
Find it at: South Parklands, Lightsview A fabulous adventure playground has been added to the Lightsview development, which is well worth the trip! Opened in April 2021, the nature play themed park includes water play, a huge number of logs and balancing beams to test out kids and parents alike! Throw in a climbing hill with slide, a basketball court, sand play area, in-ground trampolines, swings and even more slides, we love this park for older kids. For the parents there are a couple of BBQs and some under cover bench seats and tables. The nearby wetlands are sensational and really add to the relaxing vibe of the park, and we absolutely loved the little board walk path between the ponds. Toilets have now been built (new since the park opening) but there's not a lot of shade and parking can be tricky so be prepared you might have to walk a little way to get here. NB: Toddlers might be better at the Lightsview Toddler Playground as this area is unfenced and quite big and with the wetlands nearby it can be a bit hard with little ones.
