Find it at: Hamra Avenue, West Beach

The $2.9m 2024 development at West Beach Parks is a beautiful open space, tucked in the heart of the West Beach Parks precinct on Hamra Avenue.
Developed right on the West Beach coastline, the plan includes the space being utilised for community events, recreation and play. They have also retained natural vegetation.

Set on the unique coastal precinct of West Beach Parks, it also includes a kiosk (Oceanique Kiosk), shelter, BBQ, shade, toilets and other amenities.

While there is no giant slide centerpiece here, the climbing structure is a huge drawcard taking pride of place in the middle of the play space. There is a smaller slide set on a hill, a great little selection of swings and some inground trampolines that have just the right amount of spring in them and ample opportunity to run, balance and play, just meters from the beach.

Here is what this one has to offer;

  • Rope climbing structure
  • Small slide
  • In-ground trampolines
  • Swings (including baby swing and nest swing)

Pack the kids bikes, as the new SAPOL Mock Roadway is right near by.

Designed by Studio Nine Architects, The Square at West Beach Parks re-establishes the site with natural vegetation and connects the local and broader community to the West Beach Parks precinct.

  • We have officially found our favourite skate park in Adelaide and it's at West Beach Skate and BMX Park (PS - if you know a better one please let us know!). With something to suit just about every level of rider we love that our little beginners can scoot and skate somewhere where they can also watch and learn from those a lot older with awesome skills. Right next to the building that houses the toilets, covered tables and DaKlinic shop is a small skate bowl. With a graduated entrance, even the newest novices can find somewhere to enter and learn some skills. The bowl deepens to an intermediate level and you'll find most of the novice/intermediate skaters and scooters here, including many with great skills just learning new tricks. West Beach Skate and BMX Park also houses a huge half pipe where beginners and experts alike can be found (usually not at the same time though!). There are also a few grind boards and rails spread around the whole park area, with varying degree of difficulty. And just a few metres away is a huge bowl - we have only seen some pretty serious skateboards riding in here on…
