Phoenix Sweets popped up in my Facebook feed right as I was starting to look for someone to make the cake for my daughter’s 9th birthday so I decided to get in touch with them – what a fantastic decision, their staff were amazing to deal with from start to finish and the end result was stunning!
They are located on King William Road and also do much more than cakes – they have a little cafe as part of their shopfront providing high tea and all kinds of sweet treats.
My daughter’s only requests were for a chocolate cake decorated with pink, purple and blue. The team at Phoenix Sweets gave me multiple ideas and options and Miss 9 was THRILLED with the end product. It tasted great too, with even the adults all wanting a piece! The Happy Hive Cakes

These are cakes baked with passion, love, enthusiasm and talent – Susie recently made a cake for Miss 7’s Unicorn Party. The brief was pretty basic (“she loves purple and rainbows”) and the result was STUNNING!
Not only was it stunning, it was delicious – when I say that these cakes are made with love, I mean it! Susie uses tried and tested family recipes and spends time making test cakes to get everything just right. Our lemon cake was delicious, everyone enjoyed it from the 3 year old, right up to the 88 year old at the party!
Susie at The Happy Hive doesn’t only do cakes either – nope, this woman is a super talented star who does baking, flower arrangements, handmade cards, decorations and even sewing. Amazing!
