Opening for business (kid business that is) from the start of November 2020, this fantastic new park is tucked away in the quiet back streets of Seacombe Heights. It really has it all this one, with a junior playground and flying fox, as well as a really fun ninja course for the older kids. Don’t forget to pack the bikes, scooters and balls to use on the scooter/pump track and basketball court!
We loved the space and the choice of equipment for the older kids to climb and jump around on. The climbing logs are massive, just like climbing on the stumps of a giant oak tree!
The ninja course is absolutely fantastic and a real challenge even for the fittest kids. No toilets here sadly and it isn’t fenced, but it is a quiet backstreet so shouldn’t cause too many issues. A little water fountain has been installed and some of the equipment is shaded, but there is a lot exposed to the sun as well. Leave the meat at home because there is no BBQ either and only a small shaded seating area, but it would be a great spot for a park kids party.
Find it at: Kooralla Grove, Kidman Park What a great little park this one is. With a fantastic range of play equipment, including some reasonably challenging climbing equipment to a playground with an enclosed twirly slide, this has something for most ages. It even has a heap of outdoor gym equipment but lets be honest, apart from sitting on the ski swingy one, nobody has ever used any of it....or is that just us? No toilets is the only let down here, but it has a BBQ, seating, a mix of toddler and traditional swings, several slides and is a really beautiful spot. There is no fencing but the river is about 100m away and it is in a nice quiet back street so you shouldn't have many issues.
Find it at: George Street, Marion The City of Marion have opened up yet another fabulous playground (they are really setting the standard aren't they), this time a spacious playground at George Street. With an in-ground trampoline, swing, sandpit, water pump and 2 historical-themed cubby houses, including a village store and a workers cottage, this one is really cool. There’s also a miniature fire pole, slide and logs to jump on and an upgraded 3-on-3 basketball and netball court. There's plenty of space (the oval and footy goals are just fantastic) for your doggo to run around, as well as a sheltered BBQ area. Oh and did we mention there are toilets? Because there are! We really enjoyed this one and there was plenty for our older boys to climb and swing around on, whilst also offering enough to keep the young ones entertained.
This is a newly renovated (July 2018) park for all ages. 4 swings (2 little kids and 2 older kids), balancing, climbing nets and climbing wall, monkey bars, firemans pole and flying fox. There's also exercise equipment for big kids and adults. Nature play elements including hard and loose surface paths and a water play area including a water gate, water pumps, channel, sand sieve and wooden bridge that will be great fun in summer! There's also lots of shade including 2 shade sails which we love as well as BBQs and undercover picnic area, basketball area and netball goal too. A great park for a birthday party! This is an off-leash park where dogs can exercise off-leash, except within 5 metres of a playground, at a wetland or when organised sport is being played. Note: There are no toilets at this park but it's just a short walk (10 mins or so) to Hendrie Street Reserve [wpgmza id="138" cat="1" marker="480" zoom="16"]
