Welcome to the new home of circus and cabaret at the Adelaide Fringe. Situated in the centre of the CBD in the southern half of Tarntanyangga (Victoria Square) Fool’s Paradise will be an epicentre of activity for the Fringe. Presenting three unique venues, each with a stacked program of circus, physical theatre, comedy, music and magic, and an equally impressive program of food and beverage offerings from local South Australian producers.
Expect a chilled vibe where you can relax with a glass of something and grab a meal before or after a show. The food options are solid with bao, pizza, doughnuts, smoothies and more. For the kids and big kids at heart, there is also a mini golf course! How cool is that?! Head to the bar to pay and grab your clubs and you’re off! ($5 per person to play.)
Busking will also return to the area, alongside scheduled live music acts, in the area that will now take up the whole southern side of the square.
The team from Listo Trapeze will also be running trapeze classes throughout the Fringe – so you can literally run (or fly!) away with the circus at Fool’s Paradise!
Follow Fool’s Paradise on Facebook & Instagram for all of their Fringe shows & updates.
Adelaide Fringe is of course famous for it's performances, shows and art installations BUT it's also one such a great opportunity to get down to the city and try some new food flavours, some crazy treats or just a good old ice cream from one of the many many food trucks and vendors that set up for the month of Adelaide Fringe. It's actually one of our Fringe highlights so we thought this year we'd share our favourite food-y finds. Make sure to tag us in your FB and IG posts if you find something we need to try and add to this page!
Kids are unpredictable - like many of the Fringe shows we've seen really. As much as I have fought it, I am ready to admit that I am at a stage in my life, with kids, where PLANNING is king. Attending events is no exception, so here is my guide to surviving a day at Adelaide Fringe with kids. Sort your transport or parking in advance. Weekends get particularly busy and opening night will also see some road closures around War Memorial Drive. Pre booking city car parks is about the smartest invention since the Rubik's Cube. Of course you can bus, train, tram, uber and taxi. Or ride a bike - but preferably a hipster bike - because FRINGE. For Wilson East End book here: https://bookabay.wilsonparking.com.au/ Know where your show is. I recall my first Fringe. It wasn't that long ago and I made an assumption sillier than Mr Snotbottom him self, that it all happened in The Garden of Unearthly Delights. Nope. Fringe. Is. Huge. While the biggest hubs are in the East End of the CBD, venues are all over the place including some out in the suburbs and hills. Find it at: Greenglade Drive, Paradise Do you have a Dinosaur loving kid? Greenslade Playground at Paradise is a lovely little spot with a really cool dinosaur that you (or the kids...but don't let me stop you!) can climb all over and through a little dino-tunnel! How cool! The dino is enough to make this stand out from the playground crowd, but it also has a great range of equipment too. With a fabulous 5-swing, which is more suitable for the younger kids, a long slide, some climbing logs and some great climbing equipment, we are convinced there is something here your kids will enjoy. Being next to the river, there is a lot of great walking trails and also some seating and shelter, but there is sadly no toilets or car park (we just parked on Greenglade Drive).
I'm a Mum of 2 girls and also one 4 legged ratbag of a dog called Rudy. I work from home and family balance out the work/school hours with lots of beach time, walks, bike rides skates, scooters and surfs. We like being outside. Our favourite places in Adelaide are the Adelaide Hills and Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park
