Find it on the corner of Oliver Avenue and Riverway Drive, Fulham Gardens
Located along the linear park trail we love this park because it’s fully fenced, which not many are along the river near here and also has heaps of natural shade. A great park for toddlers for it’s low, easy to use equipment and we love the tandem swing. There’s also some fun climbing nature play features, BBQ and picnic tables. No toilets though.
You can walk or cycle to George Jones Reserve via the River Torrens Linear Trail stopping in at some of the other playgrounds on the way.
Find it at: Wycombe Street, Underdale This place was such a secret it took us years of playground hunting to find it! Located on the river linear park at Underdale, this playground is for the little kids around the 3-5 year mark. We loved the fireman's pole and the two small forts and bridges, with a lot of cool climbing equipment for which is just the height for those pre-school kids. We always love a flying fox, but this one was a bit too high for the little ones so a tip we picked up was to use a jumper to hook over the handles and drag it around. Problem solved! The back streets are nice and quiet but there is a busy bike path nearby so keep an eye out for passing bikes. There isn't any seats, bins, shade, BBQs or fencing but it is a great little spot. p.s We don't know who Charlie was but thanks for the playground buddy!
Find it at: Burbridge Road, Westbeach Complementing the playground, Stage 1 of the upgraded area at Apex Park caters for a wide variety of ages and is great for catch ups, parties, a general play or hit of tennis. The fully fenced playground features lots of equipment over a quite large area. It is a bark chip surface, so with considering if unsteady on your feet, and there is unfortunately no accessible play here. If that doesn't rule you out, It's a bloody great park worth driving out of your area for. Best ages, honest opinion, there is not a lot of play for the under 3 yo's to play independently and not much for the 9 yo + in the play ground, apart from the oversized nest swing. Personally it makes a nice change here to NOT have water play. Some of us don't like it, especially in winter. Featuring lots of small to mid scale climbing opportunities including stairs, mini rock climb wall, a rope spider web tower, a mini spinning climbing frame and lots more. You will also find normal swings and the oversized nest swing. Throughout the equipment the kids will find fun activity games that…
Find it at: Kooralla Grove, Kidman Park What a great little park this one is. With a fantastic range of play equipment, including some reasonably challenging climbing equipment to a playground with an enclosed twirly slide, this has something for most ages. It even has a heap of outdoor gym equipment but lets be honest, apart from sitting on the ski swingy one, nobody has ever used any of it....or is that just us? No toilets is the only let down here, but it has a BBQ, seating, a mix of toddler and traditional swings, several slides and is a really beautiful spot. There is no fencing but the river is about 100m away and it is in a nice quiet back street so you shouldn't have many issues.
