The City of Marion have opened up yet another fabulous playground (they are really setting the standard aren’t they), this time a spacious playground at George Street. With an in-ground trampoline, swing, sandpit, water pump and 2 historical-themed cubby houses, including a village store and a workers cottage, this one is really cool.
There’s also a miniature fire pole, slide and logs to jump on and an upgraded 3-on-3 basketball and netball court. There’s plenty of space (the oval and footy goals are just fantastic) for your doggo to run around, as well as a sheltered BBQ area.
Oh and did we mention there are toilets? Because there are! We really enjoyed this one and there was plenty for our older boys to climb and swing around on, whilst also offering enough to keep the young ones entertained.
Find it at: Stanley Street, Glengowie This one will have your little crew buzzing (little bee humour there...you will see why in the pics), with this bee hive themed playground. This has jumped straight into some of our favourite playgrounds, with some very unique pieces of play equipment and a real commitment to the bee theme (even if the ride on bees do look sort of like they will appear in your nightmares at some point) Lots of shade, no toilets sadly but it is fully fenced (except for a walkway spot). We found there to be fairly limited parking and there was a BBQ. Our little ones had an absolute ball here, with so much to explore and really immerse themselves in the theme. They will actually bee-lieve they are in a hive (sorry last bee pun....promise), especially when they visit the honey shop. It is quite a beautiful little space and one of those little hidden gems you may come across and just love. This could have been another bog standard run of the mill back street playground but they have turned into something quite special.
Find it at: Churchill Road, Prospect Opened in late August, 2019, George Whittle Reserve is an amazing new space for families in Adelaide's inner North. With a great new skate park facility, fenced mixed use courts, playground, nature inspired climbing area, BBQs and shelter this is sure to be a winner! There is also some fitness equipment, green space and plenty of nearby shade for the summer. Check out the new George Whittle Reserve in Prospect, suited to a wide age range. Take a basketball, scooter or just yourselves to have a look. Images c/o the City of Prospect website and Facebook page.
Find it at: Norman Street, St Marys A beautiful little spot this one, located near the Kenilworth Football Club at St marys (gates go through to the ground). There is an extensive water garden, BBQs, seating and tables plus a water fountain too which is very handy. Lots of green space for general muck around/ball play and good climbing trees to boot. The playground is perfect for the under 8s, with nature play the theme here. Enough climbing, log and rock hopping, with a nice looking playground set up including climbing equipment and a little slide. There is a gravel path suitable for bikes or strollers that laps the entire park but.....no toilets, fencing and no shade (apart from the trees).
