Nestled in the Adelaide foothills between Waterfall Gully Road and Wyatt Road, Langman Reserve is a much-loved local gem. It’s perfect for families seeking a relaxed outdoor escape with plenty of space, activities and shade.
Here is what is on offer;
There’s a smaller northern playground with toddler swings and seesaws, and a larger southern one with nest swings, rope‑sphere climbers, rockers, slides and a tree‑themed modular unit featuring steps, platforms and rope climbs, plus toddler‑friendly equipment
Original Grey Box woodland surrounds the playgrounds, providing dappled shade and a calm setting
Multiple picnic tables, bench seats and a BBQ area are ideal for family gatherings, with adjacent disabled toilets and drinking fountains
Tennis courts (bookable), a basketball hoop, cricket net, cricket oval, football/netball goals, and large grassy ovals let families mix sport with play
Plus: scenic walking & lookout A short native‑bush walking trail leads to a lookout over the city—a bonus for when little legs need a break. With off-street parking available on Waterfall Gully Road and nearby streets, access is easy for families with prams or picnics

Find it at: The Parade & West Terrace, Kensington Gardens Hidden away in the inner Eastern suburbs is this the awesome Burnside Adventure Playground. Despite being a multi-award winning park and just off The Parade, I've been surprised to find how many locals don't even know about this place with things to do for families of all ages and interests! It s a firm fave for us and our two boys under 5, plus our friends with toddlers and others with 6 & 8 year old! There is an entrance to a small carpark from The Parade just past the tennis courts (see map below), but on a nice weekend it can get busy. Plenty of additional on street parking can be found within 40m walk to the main playground on West Terrace. The main playground on the western side of the resserve has plenty for kids from 18months to 7 years or so, including 2 great flying fox (one seated one for all abilities and ages). It also has a few swings, slide, climbing frame and a great rubber softfall area and bike/scooter path. Take a short walk past the facilities block and car park, note the beautiful old…
Find it at: Greenhill Road, Hazelwood Park Hazelwood Park Playground is a beauty for families of all ages and abilities. Upgraded in 2010 (and given a bit more TLC in early 2024), this shady park with plenty to do was one of the first (and still one of our fave) parks with a nature play feel. Set in the corner of the huge reserve there is plenty of space, plenty of shade and plenty of play equipment. In the summer the Burnside Outdoor Pool is also open to the public with large, clean pools and a great kids area too.. Our family love the big softfall hill with inbuilt steps and slides, the super high climbing net, the old tractor to climb on, the dual flying fox and the sandput with dinosaur bones in it to bring out their inner paleantologist. Just a note the the playground isn't fully fenced and while it's relatively easy to keep an eye on the kids, parents should take extra care. What we LOVE about Hazelwood Park Playground: Multiple Slides down from the large purpose built hill with softfall surface and inbuilt steps, Spinners Four swings Liberty swing and Accessible roundabout Slide and climbing…
