  • Find it at: West Park Way, McLaren Vale Located just off Main Road down at the stunning McLaren Vale, this stunning reserve is home to one of the most picturesque playgrounds down south, especially when the trees are in bloom. With a climbing sphere, swings, plenty of grass and did we mention the nearby tank (which is always a show stopper), this precinct makes for a great stop and leg stretch on your McLaren Vale day trip. The larger precinct also has BBQs, tennis courts and a BMX track! The larger area includes toilets and plenty of grassed areas to sit down with your fruchocs (its compulsory to visit the Fruchoc Shop at McVale) and soak in the serenity.

  • The front sign says it all WELCOME and that is exactly how this winery makes families feel when you walk through the door. A fab spot for a lazy afternoon. What we love about this winery is the simplicity. The little things are often the things we want and remember the most. Lloyd Brothers loves families and this was evident when we visited. They have a gorgeous little kids corner located inside. Whilst small it has a little table and chairs, books, colouring in, blocks and a few toys and games for the kids to play with. The grassed area outside is huge and features a gorgeous lake with ducks so a lovely spot for the kids to run free. This is the area they use for there family friendly days. They even have a few picnic rugs you can use to keep you warm on cooler days. We loved this little warm touch and we assume you could use as a picnic rug outside on the nice days. In the restaurant pavilion they even have a few bean bags the kids can use to sit together. A clever idea as allows a little adult time. You will also find…

  • This winery goes by two names. The wines are called Fork in the Road wines and the venue as such is called Old Oval Estate and it’s the sweetest family run winery. Old Oval Estate has a lovely home away from home feel and before my visit I had someone tell me it’s their favourite place to take the kids and I can see why. The location and space lend itself to being a great place to head for a platter and catch up with friends and/or family. So that’s what we did when we met another family there for an afternoon of playing, platters and wine. With kids ranging in age from 4 to 14 who were happy the whole time, we think it’s a winner. There are many spaces to enjoy. You can sit out the front of the cellar door or enjoy a tasting in the cellar door then head out the back to the garden and that’s where I think the magic begins. There are tables scattered around the gorgeous manicured gardens and then there is a beautiful patio area that is heated and has me dreaming up having a birthday party there. When it comes…
