Nestled amongst the gum trees Minkarra Park offers something for kids of varying ages. This could be a great park to get out and burn some energy with the kids for the following reasons - The bright and colourful soft fall rubber flooring surrounding the playground. Our crawler makes the most of the long stretches of flooring and climbs all over the large rocks. - For little ones walking, the playground offers swings, a large spinning wheel, slide and climbing triangle. - For the more adventurous and thrill seeking the large Skate Park facilities or BMX trail may be the fix. - For those who want to explore nature there is the flagstaff rotary walk with both paved and natural path's. Alternatively the kids may want to create their own fun and make a branch cubby. - Even the family dog wins with the fully fenced Minkarra dog park. - For a quick workout (or show the kids how strong dad is), the permanent outdoor gym with soft flooring is the place to be. Minkarra is a bit isolated from any shops or cafes so a suggestion would be to swing by The Hub shopping centre in Aberfoyle park or…

Glenthorne Nature Play Space Find it at: Majors Road, O'Halloran Hill Located within Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta, this multi-million dollar nature playground has quickly become a favourite for Adelaide families, and honestly, it’s easy to see why. Opened in 2022, this incredible play space combines adventure, imagination, inclusive design and nature play in one huge family-friendly destination. What we love most about Glenthorne Nature Play Space is that it truly caters for all ages. While younger kids will adore the swings, sand play and cubby-building opportunities, older kids are absolutely going to love the giant climbing structures, flying foxes and enormous tube slide tower. It’s the kind of playground where you can easily spend hours exploring. The thoughtfully designed nature play space was created by Adelaide playground specialists Climbing Tree Creations, alongside TCL and Phillips Pilkington Architects, with a strong focus on open-ended adventure play, accessibility and connection with the natural environment. Throughout the playground you’ll find salvaged timber, rocks, natural creek beds and climbing elements that encourage kids to explore, create and move freely through the space. The towering slide structures were inspired by the hollow red gums found along South Australian river systems, giving the playground a uniquely…

Where: Chandlers Hill Road, Happy Valley After 120 odd years of just sitting there doing nothing besides provide us with an unlimited supply of clean drinking water (boring), Happy Valley Reservoir is open for activities! And wow haven't the public taken to it like a toddler to a pack of unattended textas. With almost 20km of trails, perfect for mixed uses including running, mountain biking, hiking (lots of it is pram friendly too!), this is going to be a really exciting community space for the south. We also hear that a Park Run is planned for the area which would be fantastic for the runners and walkers out there. But the real treat here is the Kayaking. With a number of launch points, the facilities here are fantastic, with toilets located along the 2x Chandlers Hill car parks as well as in 2x locations on the Happy Valley Drive side. For the hikers, choose from a range of well signed tracks, from 2km loops all the way up to the 11km Shoreline Loop. Kayakers - You will find your launch points at the 2 Chandlers Hill Road entry points. Fishing is allowed (woo hoo!) but you can't use stand up…
