Find it at: Grand Boulevard, Port Noarlunga South Sunset's brand- new playground, Sea Turtle Park officially opened early 2026. The highlight of the playground is an enormous sea turtle structure that immediately captures children’s attention. This large feature invites kids to climb, crawl and slide while pretending they are exploring a giant marine creature. Surrounding the turtle are a variety of play elements including climbing ropes, slides, swings and spinning equipment, giving children of different ages plenty of ways to play. The park has also been designed with active families in mind. A half-court allows kids and teenagers to shoot hoops or play casual games of basketball or netball, while the open grassed areas are ideal for kicking a football, playing tag or simply running around. These spaces make it easy for siblings of different ages to find something they enjoy. Parents and carers will appreciate the thoughtful amenities throughout the park. Sheltered picnic tables and seating areas provide a comfortable place to relax while children play. Electric BBQ facilities make it easy to turn a visit into a family lunch or weekend gathering, and wide pathways help make the park accessible for prams, scooters and bikes. Another great aspect…
Find it at: Saltfleet Street, Port Noarlunga South Jubilee Playground is one of the biggest and best playgrounds in the Adelaide area. It's an oldie but a goodie and most of the awesome play equipment that forms a castle is made out of wood which makes it even cooler! With HEAPS of things to keep kids from toddler to high school amused and has different sections for different abilities, it is easy to see why this is a local favourite. We Love: The huge wooden castle and surrounds that provides heaps of places for kids to run, hide and have fun, Smaller kids "Tot Lot" section fenced off, Musical bells, Swings including a cool adult/child seated swing (see pic above), Climbing frames including rock climbing wall and modern climbing frames, Ship, rocket, fire pole, lighthouse and other cool structures, Tunnels, balance boards and numerous slides, Wheelchair accessible (although some areas have bark chips), New modern section of playground includes water play and a giant giraffe! Find it at: Market Cres, Old Noarlunga As a southerner most of my life, who grew up around this spot and visited constantly and went to a zillion kids parties here, I never thought of it as much of a 'hidden gem' but it is kind of the definition of one! Tucked away in beautiful Old Noarlunga (a township that is bypassed by all the main roads), the Market Square is a magnificent setting for a playground, picnic, feeding the ducks by the Onkaparinga River or birthday party. With all the facilities you want, like a toilet, shade and seating, BBQs, nearby coffee shops (one across the road is a beauty) and serenity (not really a facility but its nice to have!), it is easy to see why this is such a favourite with the south. The playground is great for the younger kids and has several swings, a bunch of smaller equipment scattered around and different types of swings. The grassed area is huge and an absolute cracker for a game of cricket of footy with the family. Side note....Old Noarlunga do amazing Christmas Lights so make sure you include this on your travels too.
