A great little Northern suburbs park that is a great spot for a picnic or birthday party. Illyarrie is a nice big space with plenty of natural shade. There are two playground areas with equipment including a tunnel slide and toddler slide, a few different swings including a nest swing and a great climbing frame that little ninjas will love. Little kids will love the fire truck and you can even BYO ping pong bat and balls to use on the permanent table! That’s something new!

The reserve has recently been upgraded and includes BBQ and toilet facilities and we LOVE the recliner chairs, that’s what we call playground seating!!

  • Where: Kooralla Grove, Kidman Park What a great little park this one is. With a fantastic range of play equipment, including some reasonably challenging climbing equipment to a playground with an enclosed twirly slide, this has something for most ages. It even has a heap of outdoor gym equipment but lets be honest, apart from sitting on the ski swingy one, nobody has ever used any of it....or is that just us? No toilets is the only let down here, but it has a BBQ, seating, a mix of toddler and traditional swings, several slides and is a really beautiful spot. There is no fencing but the river is about 100m away and it is in a nice quiet back street so you shouldn't have many issues.

  • This quaint little neighbourhood playground is nestled in the quiet suburb of Leabrook Fully fenced off park and whilst there is no shade provided the playground is situated under some beautiful big old gum trees that do provide some protection from the sun . There are also a few smaller trees around the edge off the grassed area that provide small amounts of shade for those wanting a small picnic space . This park is more suitable for toddlers and includes a swing set with a baby swing , small climbing ropes , slippery dip and my favourite is the big red truck that the kids can sit in and pretend to drive with the steering wheel . Unfortunately no toilets or BBQ facilities are located in this park Lovely little local playground . Phillip Ave Leabrook In need of a coffee the Leabrook Bakehouse and Patisserie is a short walk away on Glynburn Road .

  • Dampier Reserve at Findon is great a central neighbourhood playground and reserve for the kids to discover (don't forget to bring the racquets!).  You'll find the following facilities: Nature play Sheltered picnic tablesTwo tennis courtsPlay equipment Basketball ringPublic toilets Not a bad little back street playground which if you are a local, is a great little spot to tire the kids out or have a hit of tennis!
