Kids love hot chips, and we honestly think that a cult following is on the horizon for these, they are that good. Yep, we might have found the absolute best in Adelaide (or the universe). If you’re looking for a fantastic takeaway meal for the family, look no further than Kenny’s at the Churchill Centre! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the friendliest staff, ready to make your meal experience special. The thing that really stands out at Kenny’s is the taste and quality of the food, especially the chips! Hand cut daily in the Adelaide Hills….. they don’t come better than this… crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection, you’ll find it hard to stop eating them once you start. Honestly you’d be well advised to stop reading right here, jump in the car and go and get some.

The chicken tenders are another highlight. They’re perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them a crowd-pleaser for both adults and kids alike. These are made even more delicious accompanied by Kenny’s own special sauce, which is a hit with everyone. Even the kids love it, and that’s saying something!

Speaking of kids, Kenny’s kids packs are perfect for little ones. Our girls loved their meal—chicken nuggets, crispy chips, and a juice. It’s simple, tasty, and exactly what they want when they’re ready for a meal on the go. Plus, it’s a great deal for parents looking to feed the whole family without breaking the bank. This place is super affordable.

But wait, there’s more! Kenny’s also makes fresh cookies every day and they sell out pretty quickly. You’ll want to grab one if you get there early enough!

We loved that Kenny’s cater to a wide range of dietary needs, the entire menu is gluten-free and dairy-free with a lot of egg free options too. It’s not just the main meals, they even have gluten-free and dairy-free sauces and gravies. This makes it an ideal spot for families with food sensitivities who often struggle to find safe places that really take this seriously and offer these options.

How do they make the food so tasty? Our guess is the old school cooking – no seed oils here, every thing is cooked in beef tallow. Just like the 80’s, and its delicious.

Lastly we want you to know that Kenny’s is a fantastic place to eat in, but also that seating does get quite busy, especially around meal times. If you’re finding it hard to get a table, why not take your meal to one of the local parks. We love the brilliant nearby Polonia Reserve (giant soccer ball playground) or find a park on our handy interactive playground finder here. It’s the perfect way to enjoy your food in a relaxed outdoor setting.

All in all, Kenny’s at the Churchill Centre is a must-visit for anyone in Adelaide. Great food, friendly service, and options for the whole family make it a local favorite. Next time you need an adventure for some tasty eats, or are the area, be sure to stop by, its worth a trip across town.

  • Find it at: Essex Crescent, Croydon Park Following its partial closure for the South Road upgrade, Polonia Reserve has re-opened into a magnificent new playground, which features one of the most eye-catching designs of any playground in the state. The Polonia Reserve upgrade includes an open kick about lawn, play space and storm water detention area. The huge 7-metre-tall, 12-metre-wide soccer ball playground sculpture, built by local business Iguana Creative, features three levels, two slides, a climbing structure, a lookout platform, tessellated climbing steps, fire poles, an interactive ticket booth, and exterior illumination. The soccer ball play element is not just a fun addition to this new reserve but also pays homage to the area's history. Before moving up the road to the newly constructed Regency Reserve, Polonia Reserve was home to Croydon Football Club since 1950, and before that was home to Polonia Soccer Club. We can't wait to make this a local hangout and it will be an absolute hit with the locals.

  • Gorgeous leafy playground located in Prospect suitable for all ages. This playground has a lovely vibe about it with some great play equipment in a “magical” garden theme. This playground allows the children to play on the equipment, explore the garden and nature areas, build sandcastles in the sandpit, splash in the small water play area, kick a ball on the lawn or just relax on a blanket. The playground is fully fenced but also offers lots of shady grassed areas outside the fence that can be utilised for picnics /parties. The play equipment has 2 separate areas to cater for different ages. The Toddler area has a slippery dip on the hill surrounded by grass, a swing set including baby swing, some climbing equipment and a few small fun bouncing pieces. The bigger kid’s area is based around a constructed tree house feel which offers harder/higher ropes and a higher slippery dip area however this area is not under shade. Both areas have bark chips underneath for a softer landing. This playground has tables located around the fenced in area however the toilets, BBQs and drinking fountain and more bench tables are located outside the playground fence. A great…

  • Shelly's Kiosk is a light, bright and vibrant beachside 'must-visit' for Adelaide families seeking a quality bite to eat with a side of beach adventure. With a very deliberate focus on feeding kids well, the beautifully restored venue has held on to glimpses of 'Noonies' from days gone by. You can now enjoy the hospitality here seven days a week from 7am right through to an evening meal or sunset cocktail! We are so thrilled to see what was always an iconic part of the Semaphore community redeveloped and reopen, and right in time for summer! Just metres away from the bustling upgraded Semaphore South playground and the iconic Semaphore Steam Train (which runs on every Sunday + public holidays in October to April + daily in school holidays October to April except Tuesdays and Thursdays). This place really does have it all going on. This charming kiosk serves as the perfect pit stop for both kids and parents. With the sound of waves lapping nearby and the smell of fresh sea air and coffee, it’s a great place to kick off your day with some morning caffeine and a play, or an inviting spot to refuel after a day…
