This playground was updated in 2015 and it a really cool little hidden playground gem we were told about by one of our Facebook friends. (Thanks Chris!)
This is a nice big open space with room to run around, walking paths, shaded and fully fenced playground, tables and bench seats and even a dirt BMX track. Playground equipment includes toddler and nest swings but most of the equipment is better suited to primary/older kids including see saw, spinners a cool slide that you have to climb a rope net to access and a flying fox! There’s also some work out equipment outside of the fenced area including a jumping machine. Older kids will love it, but watch out for little ones fingers.
Find it at: Wilkinson Road, Para Hills The City of Salisbury has spruced up the (FULLY FENCED) play space at Prettejohn Gully Reserve in Para Hills, with new play equipment including a multi play unit, activity box, monkey bars, musical equipment, talking tubes, carousel, two-person springer, sandpit and swings. While the kids play under the recently constructed shade structure, you can relax under the new shelter which features a picnic setting. Wheelchair access to the colourful play space is available from the Para Hills Community Hub carpark. There's some public toilets inside the Para Hills Community Hub right next door and also outside the Hub (along the brick wall you can see in the first photo). This one looks fantastic and such a great facility for the Para Hills community. The Woolworths is really close too if you need supplies for that last minute picnic or if you just want snacks because everyone loves playground snacks right? When we think of the playgrounds for toddlers we think of one key thing FENCES. Anything else is pretty much a bonus! We also look for swings, toilets and, even better, a nice shaded space. These things are not always possible (why don't ALL playgrounds have fences ALL the way around?!), but check out these playgrounds around Adelaide that we think your kids- and you- will love. Here are what we think are the TOP TEN Toddler Playgrounds in Adelaide. George Jones Reserve, Fulham Gardens Hessing Crescent Reserve, Trott Park Jervois Street Reserve Playground South Plympton Marshmallow Park / Pityarilla Activity Hub Glover North Helicopter Park North Adelaide Bush Magic Playground, North Adelaide If none of those are close enough or not what you're after, here's even more.
I'm a Mum of 2 girls and also one 4 legged ratbag of a dog called Rudy. I work from home and family balance out the work/school hours with lots of beach time, walks, bike rides skates, scooters and surfs. We like being outside. Our favourite places in Adelaide are the Adelaide Hills and Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park
