Saints Kitchen, Salisbury Plain

Family Friendly Eats, North

Saints Kitchen in Salisbury has become a bit of a legendary café in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs, drawing in families with its fresh, high-quality dishes and unique setting. Located in the Saints Shopping Centre alongside the famous Foodland (winner of IGA’s International Retailer of the Year), it’s a perfect spot for everything from quick coffee breaks to leisurely family brunches or even a romantic dessert date.

The food here is top-notch, with ingredients sourced from some of South Australia’s finest producers, like Barossa Fine Foods and Rhodes Free Range Eggs from the Clare Valley, this quality shines through, and it’s evident in every bite. With four separate menus covering brunch, dinner, dessert, and drinks, Saints Kitchen has something for everyone.

We dove into a bit of everything at Saints Kitchen, starting with the Super Squid Salad, the T’Nasty Chicken Burger, and some heavenly pancakes – all thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Saints is also famous for its ultra-Instagrammable holy sundaes and super shakes. Our 7-year-old couldn’t resist the Kit Kat one, a towering treat almost bigger than his head (and he dove into it before his kids beef slider even arrived!) While kids’ meals here aren’t massive, they’re affordable, so no complaints from us and they will have room for a scoop from the assortment of beautiful ice creams.

If you’re a breakfast lover, don’t miss the Breakfast Tower – it’s a massive spread that’s not for the faint of heart. Definitely come hungry for this one and bring a friend to help out! Parking is plentiful and easy to access, making it convenient for families. There are highchairs available, and outdoor seating too, if you fancy some fresh air with your meal.

For those with dietary needs, Saints Kitchen is happy to accommodate, with options for various diets. And if you’re looking to unwind, there’s even wine on tap from local labels like Saltram and Squealing Pig. While the cocktails were tempting, we stuck with coffee and fresh juice this time, which were both lovely.

So, next time you’re in Salisbury, make sure to stop by, bring your appetite (and your family), and enjoy a meal that’s as fun as it is delicious! We have a feeling you’re gonna’ LOVE us for this one!

  • Find it at: Main N Road, Salisbury Park Don’t you just love those parks with soooooo much open space and beautiful green lawn for the kids to run around on – and even better with hills to roll down? Well that’s what you’ll find at Carisbrooke Park. A big TICK for me at this playground is the number of swings they have – 10 in total, and some different ones to try out. Usually a playground just has two and the poor kids are stuck waiting for a turn, so I (I mean Miss M) was impressed that she could hop on and off the swings whenever she liked (and I mentioned we were there on Father’s Day – there were a few groups enjoying picnics around the place, but it definitely wasn’t too busy). Got multiples? Then this park suits you - think solo parent pushing triplet toddlers for an hour! Toilets on site – another TICK!Lots of shade – TICK! There’s a workout/outdoor gym area that I’m sure older kids enjoy playing on just as much as those who use them for it’s intended purpose. All ages are catered for with a wobbly balance beam, main playground area,…
