The Flipside Barcade, Daw Park

Family Friendly Eats

We are the first to admit that we talk a lot about places to visit for families with younger kids. But what about older kids that are too old for a pub playground or colouring pack? Enter THE FLIPSIDE BARCADE in Daw Park. Not only does this place have the best name, it also has some great food, along with some epic entertainment for your older kids – ARCADE GAMES! Oh and parents, yep – it’s licensed!

You’ll find heaps of pinball machines, Sega Rally, Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam and more… grab your kids and relive your childhood while you show them how it’s really done. All the iPad apps of today ain’t got nothing on some old fashioned arcade fun!

The Flipside Barcade is also running some awesome events, including trivia nights, Sega Rally championships and arcade tournaments, along with their weekly food and drink specials. If none of those float your boat, you can book a party for you and your mates and relive your youth. Flipside Barcade would also be the perfect spot for a teenage birthday party.

The food is perfect for the atmosphere – good grub ready to fuel you up for an afternoon or evening of kicking your kids butt on the pinball machines. You’ll find wings, burgers, nuggets, chips and mac & cheese, along with milkshakes and a decent selection of alcoholic bevvies.

Catch you on the Flipside! Scroll down for opening hours & how to find out more.

  • As we all know, teens and tweens are in that tough spot of wanting to grow up and be adults but also (sometimes secretly) wanting to embrace what is left of their childhood. It can be hard finding activities that they actually WANT to do and aren't too cool for, right?! When you're looking for activities to do with your tweens and teens, you probably want to make sure they tick three key boxes: They aren't too expensive (so they can bring a friend perhaps) Keep them mentally or physically active (so you can avoid the dreaded, "I'm bored. This sucks.") Something that is supervised, but where you could still allow them their "independence" while keeping an eye on them! So here are ten of the best for your kids to enjoy in Adelaide… Bounce, Marleston and Greenacres Bazinga Trading Cards, Collectibles & Arcade Treeclimb, Adelaide or Kuipto Forest Cirkidz classes Woodhouse Adventure Park Escape Hunt AFL Max Adelaide 36ers Home Games Hanging out at Glenelg Shanx Mini Golf Read on to find out why we love all of these spots for our independence loving teens and tweens!
