A 54-hectare property located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills suburb of Piccadilly (around 20 mins from the CBD). Get ready for an awesome adventure-packed day out. One that will guarantee to wear the kids out and, if you’re anything like me, give those calves a decent workout. Be sure to wear your sneakers! There’s so much to do here, you can easily spend a whole day OR better yet, make a weekend of it, and camp here!

Activities include:
Challenge Hill – crawl, climb, swing and splash your way up the hill as you test your skills and teamwork through the 30 stations on the trail. I dare you to keep up with the kids.
Disc Golf – like normal golf but with frisbees and elevated metal baskets.
The Labyrinth – a giant split-level maze, with a fireman’s pole, a slide and 2 flights of stairs adjoining the 2.8m drop from top to bottom tier.
Orienteering – eight professionally designed courses from 1.6 – 2.8km. Maps and instructions are available.  Follow the map, find the marked posts and solve the puzzle.
Tube Slides – There are two tube slides and they are a bit like a toboggan run without the snow – super fun! Aimed at kids aged 6 years and over BUT younger thrill seekers are allowed to ride with an adult. (note: the slides are only open on weekends & public holidays, including during school holidays – click here to read why.)

And while you’re there, if you’re up for some extra Adventure check out the Mt Lofty Adventure Hub that is set up inside of the Woodhouse grounds. They offer even more outdoor adventures including:

Mum of two young teens, Julie shares:

It’s like entering a whole new world! As you are greeted at reception by the person who laughs at all your jokes, in a place that sells everything you need to enjoy smores and hot chocolates, there is simply no other place like it.

Woodhouse really offers something for everyone. The wristbands you get say it all “Screen free until 5pm” which really, as parents we all love! Our kids have freedom to run, yell, explore, get muddy, solve puzzles, challenge themselves and do all the best things that childhood should be about…. and really if we’re honest, all the adults just loved doing too!

Starting out with the tube slides, our kids aged between 10 and 13 could have spent hours there, if it wasn’t that so many other activities were calling them. Challenge mountain with mousetrap mazes, bouldering activities, balancing ropes, army crawls and so so much more completely had all of us forgetting we just trapesed up the side of a mountain. The rope swing over the river with a full flow of water was something out of ninja warrior, the kids shed their shoes and braved the crossing with breaths held by parents on nobody falling in…. which we were all clear!

We raced the maze, girls versus boys, first team with all team members out wins. Nah, we’re not at all competitive.

Although we just came for the day… there’s onsite camping too in a beautiful tree lined camp ground, complete with firepit space, cos let’s be honest, what’s winter camping without a fire?

Woodhouse really lights up your sellnse of adventure, sets you free, and reconnect ls you with nature as well as those around you.

Win.

Admission to Woodhouse Adventure Park is open to the public every day, including public holidays from 9 am – 5 pm (not catastrophic fire danger days). The facility is available at alternate times for groups by arrangement and Woodhouse facilitated activities including school camps, school holiday day camps and kid’s birthday parties
