A 54-hectare property located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills suburb of Piccadilly (around 20 mins from the CBD). Get ready for an awesome adventure-packed day out. One that will guarantee to wear the kids out and, if you’re anything like me, give those calves a decent workout. Be sure to wear your sneakers! There’s so much to do here, you can easily spend a whole day OR better yet, make a weekend of it, and camp here!

Activities include:
Challenge Hill – crawl, climb, swing and splash your way up the hill as you test your skills and teamwork through the 30 stations on the trail. I dare you to keep up with the kids.
Disc Golf – like normal golf but with frisbees and elevated metal baskets.
The Labyrinth – a giant split-level maze, with a fireman’s pole, a slide and 2 flights of stairs adjoining the 2.8m drop from top to bottom tier.
Orienteering – eight professionally designed courses from 1.6 – 2.8km. Maps and instructions are available.  Follow the map, find the marked posts and solve the puzzle.
Tube Slides – There are two tube slides and they are a bit like a toboggan run without the snow – super fun! Aimed at kids aged 6 years and over BUT younger thrill seekers are allowed to ride with an adult. (note: the slides are only open on weekends & public holidays, including during school holidays – click here to read why.)

And while you’re there, if you’re up for some extra Adventure check out the Mt Lofty Adventure Hub that is set up inside of the Woodhouse grounds. They offer even more outdoor adventures including:

  • Tree-based Challenge Ropes Course
  • Low Ropes course
  • Climbing Wall
  • Beginner, intermediate and advanced Abseil walls
  • SA’s longest Zipline
  • 3 person Mega Swing

The Adventure Hub is an extra charge but well worth it if you’re into adrenaline-fuelled fun. Click here for more info.

Pack a picnic to enjoy in one of the MANY fields or picnic areas or cook up a storm in the free BBQs. And if you’re camping you can even snuggle up and toast marshmallows around the campfire.

Admission to Woodhouse Adventure Park is open to the public every day, including public holidays from 9 am – 5 pm (not catastrophic fire danger days). The facility is available at alternate times for groups by arrangement and Woodhouse facilitated activities including school camps, school holiday day camps and kid’s birthday parties.

  • Find it at: Main St, Woodside If you're looking for a nice playground for school aged kids in the Adelaide Hills, with full facilities then this might be it! Woodside Playground is located right on the Main Street next to the Woodside Oval and sports complex. It has all the usual playground equipment - slides, a small 'flying fox', climbing frames and swings all within a fully fenced play area. In addition, it's right next to the skate ramp, toilet block and large enclosed area with BBQ facilities and covered seating, with plenty of car parking. Best for 5-12 year olds. Our favourite local cafe is The Olive Branch Cafe  in Balhannah and for another destination in the area check out Melbas Chocolate Factory just on the other side of Woodside.
