We found it really hard to pick a selection of mainstream bags to review this year (there must be over 400 on offer), so following the recent Buy SA for SA week we have decided to ditch the plastic rubbish and crap food and just narrow it down to some South Australian bags, that are not only loaded with treats and practical quality contents, the value for what you are actually getting is exceptional.

You will find incredible quality and value in every Charlesworth showbag, however our absolute favourites are the Insatiable bag ($35) and the Mammoth bag ($55) with something for every one, including sweet and savory. Yes…. they officially have a showbag. In a cute Kytons carry bag that you just know I’m going to use as my lunch box for the next year. We always love stopping by every year to see what the new invention on the stand is, and this year doesn’t dissapoint. No spoilers, you have to go and see for yourself, but its a free show gane and you can play it! Also loving the new mixed mini lamington paks. This show bag will have your afternoon tea sorted at the show and your freezer stacked with lunchbox treats! Basically you choose any four lamington packs, with the option to add extras!

Returning to thier way more prominent location again this year between the Market Bazaar and the Showbag Pavilion, find all of the cards and packs and collectables. There is heaps of Pokemon, there’s all of the major sports cards, AFL, NBA, NFL, Soccer and more, at really great prices and they have some very cool showbags this year. Defs worth checking out. They all represent excellent value.
Melba’s Showbags
From $20
Melba’s are back with a fabulous value packed range of specialty bags for The Show. This is a great option if you want to avoid the Showbag Hall altogether, as you’ll find them at the entrance to The Old Ram Shed. Packed with choccies and fun lollies for your favourite little people and also plenty of options for Mum, Dad and all budgets. We grabbed a Sour Bag ($20) and a Dad’s Chocolate Bag to pop away for Father’s Day!
Ugly Swan Scream Free Brushes
Substitute plastic toys and sugar for practical and quality! Not officially a showbag, but these magical brushes are presented in the sweetest silk carry pack and there is options for the whole family. We picked up a couple every year, they always have a great ‘Show Deal’. LOVE the Scream Free hair brushing experience. Pop past the Jubilee Pavilion for a demo or use show10 for online discount. The exciting news, this year their stand is massive and they have more braiding stations and staff than ever before!
Menz FruChocs Showbags

So many options, but our go to? The $20 FruChocs Bag because it includes a discount voucher for online orders and a 2 for 1 movie ticket with Wallis Cinemas – these are insane value and youll be sorted for many movie night treats! Ok this one is wild. Grab it before you head home. This has to be the best value of all the things. Find this on in the Dairy Hall, it’s heavy and contains cold items, but also it’s in a super easy to carry cooler bag. Can’t rave enough about it. Yoghurts, flavoured milks, a full 2L quality milk, and so much more!
Gourmet Goodie Bag Cancelled again for 2025
Sam Tucker states that he hopes this may return in 2026. Fingers crossed.

The Royal Adelaide Show is BACK | 5 - 13 September 2026 It's one of our favourite Adelaide activities on the calendar each year. With heaps to see and do, from the adorable barnyard animals, agriculture competitions and events, rides, plenty of attractions and of course the Showbags - there really is something for everyone. To help you and your family make the most of The Show, here are our tips for attending this year. Things to know before you go! Opening Hours: The Royal Adelaide Show runs from 5 to 13 September, with two full weekends of rides, shows and entertainment! Gates open at 9am daily. Carnival rides and attractions continue until around 10:30pm, and until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.. Tickets: In 2026, you will need to pre-purchase your tickets online or at your local Drakes supermarket. Kids under 5 go free, while tickets for older kids (5 to 14 years) start at $17 on weekdays and $21on weekends. Adults pay $29 on weekdays or $35 on weekends.
