If ever something deserved its own day, chocolate has to be right up there. World Chocolate Day is celebrated on July 7 each year and given Adelaide has so many fantastic purveyors of the sweet cocoa treat, we took one for the team [that’s you guys] and volunteered our tastebuds this World Chocolate Day to sample some South Australia’s BEST! Actually we made the kids blind taste a heap of delicious products below, just for extra fun!

For 80 odd years and 5 generations of the Charlesworth Family have been treating us to their fabulous nuts, chocolates and saving us with incredible gift baskets for those last minute gifts.

With over 250 chocolates in their range, you will be just about guaranteed to find something that takes your fancy. We smashed a bag of our favourite milk freckled buttons this year and we are loving these cute little 40g variety blocks (who says you can’t eat the whole block?) but we love every thing they make. There is also a cute decedant hot chocolate spoon to stor into milk for a delicious hot choccy this winter! Next time we are in Tanunda, we will be making a stop at their store for an absolute chocolate experience. We just found these to be simply sensational, with the whole fam loving them.

You can now experience Melba's Chocolate Factory in two fantastic, picturesque locations - their original factory in Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, and now in Angaston in the beautiful Barossa Valley! Our team at Kids in Adelaide are passionate about World Donut Day. Nobody hates a donut (especially not kids, or Tim). Possibly the most important food in our South Australian economy, demonstrated regularly when referencing any country town by the quality of the bakery before anything else. Also every bakery lives or dies by its donuts. Case closed. Donuts are King. SO, the first Friday in June is International Donut Day (or doughnut for the purists).
