It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and what better way to celebrate the lead up to the most wonderful time of the year than right here in the City of Adelaide.

Explore The Santa Course

In an all-new festive installation, 10 enormous Santas – some as tall as 9 metres – have popped up across Rundle Mall, the CBD and North Adelaide.

Together, they form part of an interactive ‘Santa Course’ which kids, and those who are kids at heart, can follow to help Santa complete his Santa chores and learn some Santa secrets along the way……kids are going to love actively participating in Christmas 2023.

Rundle Mall’s Giant Light Up Swinging Bells

Complementing the three Santas in Rundle Mall are two giant, magical swinging bells presented by Amigo Amigo, nestled amongst a forest of green Christmas trees with thousands of twinkling lights. The bells will invite children and adults to swing and play, creating a dynamic display of colour, light and bell chimes. ‘The Santa Course’ and Rundle Mall’s swinging bells are now on display, free for the public to enjoy, until early January 2024.

Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga Christmas Tree

What stands 25 metres tall and is covered in more than 13,000 individually programmed twinkling lights?… It’s the giant Christmas tree in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga of course!

Starting Saturday, November 18 with the official lighting of the tree (click here for more on this) and then each night thereafter from 8:30 pm until 2.30am, the tree will be transformed into a dazzling light display that loops every 10 minutes.

Enjoy the lead-up to Christmas with a series of festive weekends. There’s so many amazing events happening around Victoria Square and you can find them all here. And, on evenings with no festive weekend event, there’ll be a festive music from Gospo Music Collective that will play from lighting time for around 40 minutes. Either way – it’ll put you in the Christmas spirit!

Worth adding – if it’s a warm night, the kids will love having a splash in the Victoria Square fountains so make sure you pack a change of clothes.
