Situated right across the road from Christies Beach this playground has an aquarium/ beach theme for the kids to enjoy. All over the floor space you will find pictures of fish and star fish along with sculptures of crocodiles and star fish for the kids to play on and over. All creating time for imaginative play and learning. The play space features some great pieces of equipment for a variety of ages. The real little ones can enjoy the spring surf board, baby swings, bright yellow boat and mini rock climb wall.
For the kindy age and older kids there are quite a few exciting piece of equipment for the kids to use depending on skill levels. The bright yellow climbing frame stands out as soon as you arrive at the park and provides a great challenge for the kids. You will also find a few rock climbing walls, balancing stumps, a slippery dip tower that can only be accessed via climbing pieces and a few other pieces scattered around the park.
The reserve has lots of grassed area for the kids to run around on with a lovely backdrop of the beach. You will find BBQs with lots of sheltered picnic tables. The playground is half fenced off on the road side but then is open to the picnic and grassed area. So NOT fully fenced. Toilets can be found across the road on the beach side. There are quite a few eating places across from the park depending on what you are looking for. YES you can get coffee. A lovely play space area where you have the benefit of using the beach and the playground for the day.
Find it at: Alexandra Street, Prospect This is a little hidden gem nestled in the quiet suburb of Prospect .This playground is fabulous spot for kids to get lost amongst nature. Surrounded by big beautiful trees and shrubs this park allows kids to utilise the play equipment and encourages imaginative play amongst the nature which includes a pebble dry creek and art bridge. Amongst the nature and play equipment you will also find with some quirky animals positioned around the reserve. These include an owl in the tree, a possum in the equipment area and if you dare to explore you may even find a crocodile in the creek . The play equipment is made with wood and blends in with the parks nature theme. It features a slippery dip, climbing ropes, awesome climbing structures along with a spinning top and swing set ( including baby swing). You will also find a chalk board for the kids to write and draw pictures on ( a nice touch I think ) The reserve also features a half basketball court along with plenty of grass for the kids to let off some steam. Find it at: Montrose St, Ferryden Park Located on Montrose St at Ferryden Park, this little spot has just had $155, 000 spent on an upgrade which is now open! There is new play equipment including a rubber softfall mat, slide, bouncy buggy, trampolines and double swings. They have also installed two new park seats and a new drinking fountain!
